It’s pretty hard to grow Spanish olive oil locally.
It's just as hard to grow it in the US or the UK.
Spain has been fully metric since 1868.
The US uses the metric system for soft drinks bottles and probably half of their olive oil, but yeah this seems to be made for the US market or the bottles were.
@TEER3X: Only for the 2L bottle size. All others are imperial. And even then, not all brands use the 2L size - for example, Gatorade use 32 and 64 fl oz (1.89L) bottles.
@TEER3X: Also, see Welch's fruit juice, which also uses 64 fl oz bottles instead of 2L: https://usafoods.com.au/products/welchs-100-concord-grape-ju…
Ocean Spray don't use metric size bottles either in the US.
Nah mate, via bluetooth
Hispanic olive oil?
Plastic bottle?
yes recycled PET
That is cruel.
Don't buy this rubbish in plastic
olive oil can break down certain plastics over time, especially with prolonged exposure, a phenomenon confirmed by research from the UC Davis Olive Center. Oils, being lipophilic (fat-loving), can interact with the plastic matrix, leading to the release of microplastics and other chemicals into the oil. This makes plastic containers unsuitable for long-term olive oil storage, as the oil's quality can degrade, and it can become contaminated
i only buy mine in a big tin and then put it in glass

4L Australian GEO (Good Earth Oil) EVOO is on sale at Costco for $49.99 (usually $64.99). I have been using this and the taste is much better than La Espanola or Moro EVOO.
The best vergin olive oil the one that tastes bitter, the more bitter the more polifinals in olive oil and more benefits you get…
There's difference between bitterness due to polyphenols and bitterness due to rancid low quality oil.
There's a lot of bitter virgins here.
Nah to each their own the rest of the world doesn't value oz made evoo. Lol 🤣 Spanish or anything European still reign superior
The more bitter the virgin's the better taste in your mouth 😂😂😂
I like the 2l kirkland organic ones, cheap compared to the supermarket.
Kirkland 2L organic is not single origin though. I'm not sure if it's a blend but it says oil comes from 4 or 5 different countries. Hard to verify Organic label when comes from multiple places.
It does taste better than Kirkland Spanish EVOO that Costco sells in 3L bottles.
dunno since years ago Coles got caught selling fake EVOO I'm dubious and prefer to buy local Oz oils
but meh I'll have a look at these next time I'm in store …
meanwhile I found an 'honest review' by a YouTuber who 'earns commissions' - honestly got paid …

Olive oil is good for around 3 months once opened before it becomes rancid and starts smelling like motor oil.
Not, it doesn’t
The Mediterranean diet is exaggerated and most people just take away what they want - it's not a pick and choose folks. Selective consumption benefits are minimal and can backfire!
Oil is also a refined product - regardless of how healthy claims may state it is. It's energy rich and using too much contributes to weight gain. Use as little as possible 👌
Extra virgin olive oil is unrefined.
EVOO isnt meant to be hodl'd ?
Why is this exactly 1 US gallon, is it imported?
