Ringo Magnetic Phone Mount Drink Bottle 710ml $19 + Delivery ($0 with $65 Metro Order/ OnePass/ C&C) @ Officeworks (Online Only)

360

I was looking into magsafe capped waterbottles to use as a monitor stand (holding up a USB monitor with a mag ring added), and found that Officeworks has got a Ringo branded one on clearance.

Equivelents are $35+ from what I could find from a quick search. You can get them slightly cheaper on Aliexpress if you really tried.

Anyways thought it was worth a share.

  • What about this - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/923859

Although I see the practicality of it doubling up as drink bottle. Looks like something someone would design and 3d print.

  • I think you need water in there in order heavy enough to hold.

    • I bought the 950ml version a few days ago and it seems to hold the iPhone 15 Pro Max well without water, I'm not sure if that would be exactly the case with the 710ml. Size wise, I'm not too sure how different they are.

same price for the larger 950ml too

Still struggling to understand the use case but anyway.

    • An alternative to a dashboard mount in your car? Stick the bottle in the cup holder, phone onto the bottle?

and get booked by police for using your phone whilst not properly mounted.

WTF do you do when you get thirsty while driving?! This product is creating a problem not solving one.

    • So they you don't need to bring another phone holder because a lot of people always bring the water bottle.

The most popular use is as a tripod at gym, for people who film their workouts.

      • +4

Well, if that is the case, then we need to put an international ban on this product please.

Haha I would normally agree, I would have no patience for anyone filming themselves, but for some of us it’s really important for rehab/progression to film an exercise. I get incredibly valuable feedback from my coach by filming some of the trickier movements. I would never use this water bottle though - I use a small magnetic MagSafe attachment which takes up no space and doesn’t get in anyone’s way.

    • People who eat lunch at work, where they only bring a water bottle and lunch box. The magsafe ring beats propping the phone awkwardly against the base of the bottle.

    • I like the idea of not putting my phone on the filthy gym floor, I carry a water bottle and towel with me

Track your workout with a phone and then mount it when doing the workout.

  • Seems pretty cool but then realised how am I supposed to drink while using its main function 😆 thanks OP but I’ll pass this time 👍

    • And here I assumed the main function of a water bottle was so you could drink from it. Obviously I've been looking at this all wrong. It's just an added feature

You are the only one that thought this

  • Should come in handy when I'm thirsty from a call and need to sip. Oh wait no it won't.

  • How does this work when let's say the bottle is empty or like only have a quarter remaining? Is there a risk of it falling over due to the weight of the phone or does it stay stable regardless?

This is awesome. Bought one. Thanks OP!

  • What could possibly go wrong?

  • Got one to try
    Thanks OP

Quality is pretty poor, I've had it for less than six months, and the lid has already split in half.

    • I bought it, but I thought it could be of higher quality. This bottle is also available on AliExpress and Temu (seemingly the exact same one) at roughly half the price. If you search the Officeworks bottle name in the well known search engine, you’ll see it.
The only thing that worries me is that bottles with painted plastic caps whether metal or glass might have a higher carcinogenic risk compared to normal PET bottles. This product feels like a cheap Chinese import, and I’m not sure whether these plastic caps are manufactured according to proper standards, which makes me uneasy. You already mentioned that it broke as well.
I’m canceling the product I purchased.

  • How do you know when you have a phone addiction problem? When you buy a water bottle that you can mount your phone on top of (and may not even put water in).

    • Where’s the mount for on the side of the bottle for when I take a drink?

  • this is a great idea, i can use this at the office and reduce clutter since i have a phone stand and a water bottle on my desk. now i can save space as this bottle is dual purpose.

  • Bought one before both bottle does not fit in std car holder in both of my Toyota.

  • still available in Perth not sure why the deal is showing expired…

    • Oh really? It was showing as not available online the following day, so I thought I'd do the right thing and mark it as expired. Awesome if you were able to find some.
