    I have been using one of these DSE ones for years (older model but very similar) nicely built and had that useful indicator light as well add the matter switch which is better than nothing…. Considering buying another

    why do people buy no brand names like this instead of something reputable like APC? It just seems odd to have a company that doesnt specialize in power boards protect your devices.

      I actually bought 10 of them last time to replace old power boards around the house. I've got APC and belkin for the important stuff but for $20, these are definitely better quality than the BigW / KMart ones I had and not much more in price.

      Would the technologies be much different between these and the APC brand you suggested? Always wondered if the more pricey ones were justified compared to say dick smith? (i thought it would have been like a belkin hdmi lead vs dick smith hdmi lead…same technology etc)

        Technology may not be the same but I'd imagine there would be differences in implementation or build quality… unless they were all built and assembled in the same joint but white labelled?

      Agreed. Well it is a good deal but since I got it for $20 delivered last year that's what I need to see again before I'll buy more. And I will, they're great boards but the OB in me won't pay $29 :)
