Hey all, has anyone tried booking the complimentary return flight past the current membership year, and once a new card membership year starts, book a second return ticket for the same flight?

I've done it many times with the Qantas equivalent; and there's also a refund hack I haven't tried (yet)
Awesome! That's good to know, yeah just wanted to hear if anyone done it since the T&C only mentioned that the comp flight has to be booked before the next membership year
@Limerence: You have to book one before the year ends, then book the second one from the new membership year; end result is a couple travelling somewhere half decent every two years. Is this what you're thinking?
What's the refund hack?
@tenpercent: I think it only works with the Qantas Amex Ultimate $450 Qantas credit; not the Platinum Velocity free flight benefit
Do you mean book one flight on the last day of the current membership year and a second on on the following day? Or is this some genius hack where you're getting an extra flight for free?
