Fresh Paw Paw in Sydney

I really like paw paw! Not to be confused with papaya, which is everywhere.

Woolies has it listed in several stores but it's never on the shelf when I visit so I've given up on that.
Are there any fruit & veg shops that regularly stock this item? If you've seen paw paw around, please let me know!

  • A few years ago, $25,000 bought you a pawpaw farm on Vanuatu complete with residency and passport.

You can then lease it out to locals to farm your land and get returns and unlimited crops when visiting.

Considered it, but seemed too much effort for a non-serious commitment.

Not sure that helps, just an interesting anecdote.

Have you tried Islander shops like the Fiji-specific ones?

Thanks. Not sure where to find Islander shops?

I was curious so did a quick google, looks like it's 10 years PR and they quoted paw paw and papaya interchangeably 😁

      • Hah Richard Butler, same person from years ago flogging these packages. Was SPPlantations previously. Seems to cycle through company names quite a bit. Seems quite dodgy.

Watched his intro video and immediately turned off the idea. There’s other more reputable options though.

    Damn TIL

I’ve been using the terms interchangeably like an idiot

  • Paw paws are the big fat yellow ones, papaya is smaller, and a longer shape, red inside.

  • Saw some in an asian grocery in Hornsby, tried any random Asian grocery
