Pretty average price for a console that has no disc drive

    • If you're someone who doesn't use physical media for movies or existing Xbox games, it's a good deal.

This is from someone who has the disc version for games going back to the original Xbox console. With Game Pass, Xbox Play Anywhere, Quick Resume and the NBN speed upgrades, it's a good pickup.

As per below comment though, you can almost always find consoles cheaper second hand.

    not great at all

5 year old console with disc drive removed..
$120 cheaper than launch with a disc drive.

if you are in the market for a series x, look on marketplace for sub $400

  • For 630 this is fine for someone who was going to buy a 1TB drive ($329 RRP), and a new controller (~100RRP) bc then it's 200 more for a whole 'nother console…but other than that case, eh. Prices should have already dropped, ideally to lower than this, at this point. If you've not jumped on current gen 5 years in, just wait for the next box, can't be too far off. Borrow your mate's for GTA6 and you'll be right.

I don't know any mate who'll be giving up their console when GTA6 drops.

If visual fidelity isn't something you care about, I'd be snapping up a Xbox Series S second hand to play it next May.

        I got 2 series S and an X, and a PS5. I got you fam!

  • Ive been waiting on the driveless Xbox in White but it needs to be sub $600, the wait continues

    • If you have Flybuys you get something like 16 bucks back in points to spend on groceries… so effective price = 615ish…
I'm sure $15 above your $600 isnt going to break the bank is it?

  • Won't call it a deal. It needs to be under $550.

  • I tried to get JB to price match today but they said due to needing onepass, they cannot match member deals.
Re-reading the info above I see 'early access' and ends 17th Sept mentioned, does this mean from 18th this price will be available to all > in turn meaning JB to match?
(I have several Teen Gift and JB gift cards that cannot be used at Target)

The staff member you spoke with is a muppet. I can checkout to the payment screen without needing to login to OnePass.

  • I got the price match by calling on phone. Online chat didn't want to match.
The Target deal for onepass only members had already finished and it's open to all now.
