I'm just wondering if it is worth signing up and using ShopBack…
what is your experience with it? TIA….Barb

There's no downside using shopback for online shopping.
Shopback for in-store purchases is annoying and not possible to claim if you don't follow up with another purchase. Only good if you're a repeat customer. I use it for my bakery- shout out to Maison Arnaud.

It's been pretty good for me. Tracks well and they have a wide range of options to earn cashback which is generally quick. Earned close to $6000 cashback so far although those numbers are inflated a bit due to how they previously set up their lotto system.
As with all cashback providers - your mileage will vary and you'll win some and lose some. Don't get sucked in to deals and only buy what you were going to buy without the cashback.
And don't get sucked into the whole one is better than the other. They're all pretty much the same at end of day.

I hate the chrome extension, so intrusive.

Then don't use it?

Great tip thank you

I mean sure its great it is 'free' money why wouldnt you use it

I used to use CR and TCB only, but signed up to SB after CR died.
After trying out the SB app for a few days, I find that it's trying too hard to make everything a game and it's somewhat complex to work out if you are really maximising everything. But I've already made $10 and 10% off on gift cards for things I was going to buy anyway.
Meanwhile TCB is very simple and seems to have better rates on traditional cashback, so they are still my preferred site.

The instore cashback is a bit misleading since you need to go back to the same store within a certain time period to make use of the cashback earned from the last visit, so at best you're always one cashback behind and at worst the cashback expires.
The app also looks quite cluttered and overcomplicated so I'm less inclined to use it compared to CR and TCB.
Having said that, there have been decent deals and lots of giftcard options.

I mean why else would a store discount 10+% when the customer is already outside?
If you frequent a regular local, this is money for jam. If you don't, you're neutral.

Why would any retailer/hospo give a discount then if they would have customers anyway?
The instore cashback mechanism isn't well-understood by many users (most people won't read the fine print) so a lot of people will believe they're getting a deal when they're not. I wouldn't be surprised if this is part of SB's business model.
For me I need to weigh up the size of the cashback and likelihood of returning to the same store in the near future before I decide to use SB or not. A lot of the time I end up paying with HSBC debit card which gets me 2% cashback instantly so I don't need to fuss about whether and when I will go back to the shop.

Tracking wise, it has definitely improved from a few years ago where i had to screen record every transaction. Ill sign up to whoever does free pizza 😁

This would have been better with a poll….

Yes

Yes, but never forget that their desktop browser tracking is absolute garbage. Always use their phone app if you are counting on tracking.
Also pihole/adguard or any other network level addblock will also break tracking even with their app, so swap to your sim/moble connection if you have any kind of addblock running on your network.

I had issues with a Heinekin Cashback. After weeks of emails, I gave up.

I've never had any problems either. I always use their desktop web browsing (via Firefox)

Had so many problems with SB that I hardly use them now, TCB is my preferred site.

thanks guys :)

left Shopback for TCB, haven't looked back thus far.

If it is a big cashback they will try and make excuses to not pay it.

all cash back reward type sell your data? idk?

Yes I love shopback and have had no problems.
