$50/year for the benefit of being able to access up to 20% off at very few select business is a very strange business model, I give it maybe 2 years before it’s in the toilet.

The brands read more like trendy tiktok political statements than products you'd actually buy.

Your membership fees are used to support our partner brands in the following ways:

We run paid online and offline advertising campaigns that build awareness of our partner brands and encourage potential customers to discover and shop with them.
We pay our brand ambassadors and other suppliers wherever possible with gift vouchers from our partner brands, which we purchase from them at full retail price.
We work with some of Australia’s best content creators and photographers on regular photoshoots, creating professional quality imagery and assets for our brand partners at no cost to them.

Can any business join Mates Rates as a partner brand?
Partner brands are carefully curated and hand-picked by the Mates Rates team, along with our Ambassadors.

Here is what we look for in selecting a partner brand:

They must be Australian-owned and operated.
Their values align with our own, specifically with regard to sustainable production and operation, ethical manufacturing, equality and diversity.
Their product offering is interesting, innovative and creative, made with passion and care.
They are a brand that we believe our members would either already know and love, or be excited to discover.

        We pay our brand ambassadors

Do they pay the brand consul generals and brand envoys too?

3 pages of overpriced bougie shit…and $50 for the privilege of buying it. No thanks.

Just browsed the few stores that they have, don't think anyone will buy from these unknown stores. Move on.

    • Who gives a crap are a good brand of recycled toilet paper. I don't know any of the other brands.

Probably better to link to the landing page than the T&Cs page - https://matesrates.au/pages/mates-rates-x-up

  • Matt's Hot Shop is enough to get me to sign up! Thanks OP

  • Just FYI, the code they send you works at all of the retailers. It's not a code to sign up to their membership on their site.

I'm wondering if this is a generic code given the amount of retailers. Mine ends with Y. Anyone elses?

Mine ends in P. But I think the code consists of “UPMATESRATES#3numbers1letter”

      • Seems like each of the 4 charaters could either be a letter or a number giving you 36 possible options in each slot giving you the possibility of 1,679,616 unique codes barring special characters that I haven't observed in the two codes I have looked at.
