1/2 Price Luv-a-Duck A L'Orange Duck Legs Slow Cooked 450g $6.75 @ Coles

640

Great pre-cooked A L'orange duck legs.

If you want to mix it up a bit with an orangey version of Peking duck, the pancakes are also half price. Just add some spring onion, cucumber & hoisin sauce.

Don't forget Coles still does Rainchecks if you find them out of stock.

Not as good as the non-A L'orange but still tasty.

Great deal, but not the right sort of duck for the pancakes.

Not the traditional style, no. But there are plenty of recipes out there that incorporate orange into their duck pancakes: here, here & here. Hence my pretext: "If you want to mix it up a bit with an orangey version of Peking duck".

    • Only if you want traditional duck pancake.

Please do not make peking duck pancakes with this…

Honestly I don't know why they make this product, it sucks compared to the normal version. Otherwise good deal if you like it each to their own.

  • I prefer Duck à l'banana

  • At my coles 2 lady's working laughed at me for trying to raincheck meat 😩 never again will I lol

Lol, there's always the home delivery service…

I once got a raincheck for deli meat, they were reluctant to give it to me at first (I assume because the weight is variable). But after I pointed out it's not against their terms and conditions:

please be aware that there are exclusions to our raincheck policy. These include non-advertised products, clearance products, products advertised with a disclaimer (i.e. No Rainchecks), tobacco and smoking related products, gift cards, mobile phones, accessories, and pre-paid services.

        I got one.

So I guess if @when2buy was trying to raincheck a variable weight meat product, they just need to point out its not against their T&C's. But shouldn't be problem with a predetermined weight & packaged meat product like this.

  • Good price, but I like the regular duck leg confit better that Woolies stocks. They were on 1/2 price special until yesterday

Before anyone complains about the price difference: same overall product weight, but 90% duck in the confit and only 80% in these orange ones.

    This is delicious.

  • I find these have a very artificial chemical taste from the sauce, I couldn't finish it had to bin it

any specials on apricot chicken or tuna mornay?

  • Where would be good place to find good Peking duck in Sydney that won’t cost an arm and a leg ?

Luv-a-duck needs to stop being on special. All their flavours are amazing but the issue is the fat content in ducks are just insane. Great as a treat, not so much if having it every week.

  • bloody hell, the weight reduced from 500g after packaging change.

what do you guys normally make with these? or is it something that you have as is?

    • +2

Well they have a few recipes on their website which might be helpful to someone.

    • Made these for the wife for mother's day. They taste great as is over mashed potato with roasted carrots. Reserve the sauce and heat it separately to pour over after. If you want a green element, sauté some baby broccoli or asparagus with garlic, chilli flakes, and salt.
