Mod: Orders were cancelled due to a price error and a $50 gift card given as compensation. I don't need to think, just buy. Great deal.

  • +16

Bought one thanks, best phone deal of the year

  • Hoping this doesn't sell out in the next 1.5hrs so I can price match at the good guys….

  • +1

    Wow that's good price..

  • -1

Can we all use this to price match….

    • +1

      Too late it seems

      • +1

Obsidian Black 256GB still available for me

        • +1

False alarm I hadn't refreshed it seems

          • @Dan24: Sold out now, hope you got in

            • @Kaise: Naw I was completing my cart sadly. My moto edge 40 just gonna have to hold down the fort

  • +6

I'm thinking pricing error but bought one anyway to replace my 6a. Still costs less than what Google gave me for nerfing my battery.

    • +1

Hahah same, and with any luck this will have the same issue in 18 months time!

      • +3

And hopefully they pay us more than $400!

        • +1

I paid $398 for the 6a and was refunded $670 because I was still under warranty. You weren't within the warranty period?

          • +3

@Wheresmyspaceship: Well out of warranty but still got $670. I got mine a few months after release for $500+ after stacking discounts. I love how we made money from owning a 6a.

            • @bargainjargon: Wait how did you get the refund while being out of warranty? I thought that was a requirement as I don't think I could put my 6a through as it was out of warranty

        • +4

Been waiting 2.5 months so far for Google to act on my Pixel 7a compensation claim due to the same battery issues. Waiting for that sweet moola! Hopefully I qualify for the higher bracket even though my claim was beyond my warranty period.

          • +2

@wardrop: Hang on… This sounds similar to my story.
So you went to the Google site to check your IMEI or whatever code (can't remember specifically) and they it took you to Payoneer, and now you're waiting?

The above is what happened to me, and after a couple days I realised that something in their process didn't make sense. I had created the Payoneer account which was approved maybe a day later, then nothing.

Basically, I had to have a Payoneer account PRIOR to submitting for the claim. I went back to the Google site to check my IMEI again, but this time the refund was processed immediately because I was able to submit my Payoneer account for the refund to be paid into. I dunno what is specifically happening in your case, but thought the above may be helpful.

            • +1

@Wheresmyspaceship: It won't let me submit another claim as I've already done it. My IMEI is already "claimed" now so I need to wait for support to get their shit together.

          • +1

            @wardrop: @bargainjargon high 5 on that!
I feel like I can tell this story to my grandchildren that I don't have.

  • -7

    Thanks op. Bought 2

  • That's a really good price. Too good to pass up. Hopefully my order goes through.

  • Who ever reported this as sold out I can still see availability at stores and through delivery.

    • +5

      Try to buy one

      • +1

Now it’s changed to out of stock with “you just missed it” but when I tried before I got to the checkout no problems.

  • +2

    OOS

  • +2

    Damn too slow!

  • +1

    Amazing price.
    I didn't think twice.
Mum will think this is real nice.

    • +1

No love for Dad, thats sadddd!!

  • +3

Fantastic price, but can't justify upgrading from a 7 to anything less than a 9 Pro. There's just not enough incentive even for a low price like this.

  • +2

Never mind, gone since last refresh

    • +2

      Nah OOS

  • +1
    • +1

      Gone as well

  • +3

God damn it, just bought $400 worth of discounted gift cards and now out of stock. What the hell!

    • +9

That's the risk with that approach :/ there are still 128gb versions in stock

      • +5

Legend, didn't realise that. 128GB is all I've got at the moment so that's fine with me. Order placed.

    • +1

was able to add Light Porcelain 128gb to cart, good luck.

    • RIP mate. Laughed so hard this morning at how unbelievably unlucky that was XD

      • +1

haha, it looks like I may have got away with it on the 128GB version which seems to have been posted. Will note for next time though not to get greedy and try to stack gift cards on once-in-a-decade bargains haha

        • Unreal. Maybe was too hard to cancel the gift card purchase? Lucky bugger x 2!!

          • +2

@StalkingIbis: Yeah just arrived. Got stuck in the post for a bit. Maybe the gift cards helped my cause like you reckon! Certainly love getting a little win on a deal like this.

    • Is this still available?

Can offer $100 cash pickup now 🤣

  • +1

    Party finished? 😂

  • +1

Can still get to checkout with 128GB in Porcelain and Peony. Might be random availability.

  • +2

Seems like a price error. Think they meant to discount by $400 not sell at $400 (see JB price)

    • +2

yeh most likely a pricing error … good luck to everyone here hope you get one :)

      • +4

And Gerry will blame customers again for the mistake. Blame it on professional shoppers.

        • lol Him and Randy Bitchford would have a great time together ….

    • +2

Yeah, hardly normal may not honor it.

      • Gonna try my luck anyway haha

    • You called it. :(

  • +3

    Ozbargain whirlwind of sadness 😔

  • dammit the 256gb sold out while i was umming about it. ended up buying 128 gb. brought forward next years phone purchase to today. still good price!

    • +3

Amazon also starts canceling orders due to price error, they didn’t honor the North Face jacket deal recently, maybe inspired by Gerry

  • Definitely price error for the 256Gb.

  • +1

Managed to check out a 128GB Porcelain for pickup, but indeed it looks like a pricing error. But what a great morning to wake up to if they do honor these sales. 😹

    • Probably easier to get away with a click and collect then delivery for price errors if it's first thing in the morning.

      • True aye! I better put my pants on for when that collection email comes around (if it does).

  • My c&c for a 128gb obsidian just went through. fingers crossed

  • +14

Wait till Gerry hears about this! Straight to A Curnt Affairs lol.

  • Thanks. Just got a 128gb one. Some of these are still available. Great find.

  • Managed to checkout a 128gb black!

    • +4

Checking out and obtaining are two very different things. But good luck.

      • +2

Of course, but that's the thrill ;)

  • Peony went through for me…

  • Yep, also able to get a black 128gb for C & C.

  • +5

Just tried to order and it said out of stock. Now saying "contact us for price". Looks like the show is over.

  • I'm in WA, will they honour this after finding out from the Eastern states stores?

    • +2

Nah that's like a different country.

  • Obviously a price error. Will they honour? Probably not

    • +2

Email came through. They are not.

      • +1

Yeah I got it as well. Funnily enough someone neged my comment earlier. There was no chance they'd honour.

  • +1

Looks like they've realised and product pages pulled. Good luck everyone!

  • Ordered for click and collect but can't pick up till the afternoon. Hopefully they honor it.

  • +2

now coming up as "contact us for a price"

Just bought a 128 gb as 256 are out of stock. Guessing $400 is a great price even for this?

I have been looking to replace my S20FE which I still really like, except the degraded battery. After 4 years it's still quick & responsive so a replacement wasn't urgent, but I'll happily part with $400 for a decent phone.

    • How? It's not showing at all for me.

      • My order confirmation email came in at 8.03 am, don't know how/why but I could still check out. Let's see if HN fulfills the order.

    • I am in the exact same position with the same S20FE. we are all living the same life

      • +2

Honestly I've gone through 7-8 android phones in the last 15 years and they all slowed down after a few years. Not with S20FE… Still feels the same as when I first got it.

        • +2

I've mentioned this in other posts - Bought this replacement battery in April & it's working great.

Plenty of tutorials on Youtube. It's a great phone, should be good for a few more years. Hopefully longer.

          • +1

@WatchNerd: Thank you. I have watched a replacement battery video, just don't have the courage (yet) to give it a go for fear of messing it up. If this order gets fulfilled I'll probably try this.

        • +2

I would have to say this S20 has been the best android i've had for that same reason. Had it since early Covid days. I did a factory reset about a year ago and it gave it a new lease on life. Only degradation I have noticed is battery life of course, and some lag in taking photos which could be a storage thing. I've noticed the mobile internet is also laggy but that could be my provider. 5/5 phone

    • +1

As a previous s20fe owner myself, the lack of telephoto lens is what puts me off with this base pixel. But if you don't really take photos much, never bothered using expandable storage, and customizing the UI at a granular level (eg.samsung good lock), you'll be fine with this 128gb model at this price.

    • +1

the S20FE legacy lives on, as it were

  • Damn I snoozed and lost. OOS.

  • +1

I can't stop refreshing my inbox to see if I get the click and collect pickup ready email. There goes my work productivity this morning.

  • +1

I hope at least OP managed to pick his up yesterday or got his delivered. Thanks for posting.

  • Better not cancel my click and collect order 🙃

    • +1

What ya gonna do, if they do?

      • +5

        Definitely a bikies situation
