  • I still have an LG oled 65c7t that I purchased in 2017

Would this TCL be an upgrade on that, or my old LG still better?

    • +3

If your old tv is working then wait for the next generation tvs which will have better processor supporting 4 hdmi 2.1, higher refresh rate and general performance boost. Hodl till current tv goes kaput

      • +1

"4 x HDMI 2.1 ports" that is not possible with the Pentonic 700 processor which is in this tv.

        • It's from the TCL specifications sheet and there are 4 ports in the image

          • +3

@shxhshzhz: The user manual says 4k 120hz+ is only supported on hdmi ports 1 and 2. Safe to say its the usual dodgy claims by manufacturers

      • Excuse my ignorance? Why is 4 hdmi 2.1 desirable? What are you plugging into it to need that? What if it only had 1 or the hdmi 2.1?

    • I always hated the TCL's slow UI and it goes very slow as the time passes. Dont know if this issues are for lower end models but almost all TCL TV at my work are slow as hell.

      • +1

The medium end + are fine, also can be fixed with 4k tv stick so its k

If this has the same CPU as the C8K which according to the upper comments it does, it should be very snappy and responsive (a lot more so than my Chromecast With Google TV or Nvidia Shield).

    • +6

No, save your money, you won't see appreciable increase.

    • Oled kills this

      • But $1000+ more for 65" even with the best specials (compared to box damaged ebay bargains etc)

    • +11

This is an Edge-lit IPS panel. Absolute trash to say the least.

    • You clearly know nothing about TVs. This is not in the same league as a Mini LED TCL

  • I thought it was a great price at 1095 with Retravision last month, this is amazing deal. It's a lot of TV for the money.

    • -1

My bad this C6K not C7K. I reckon it’s worth paying a bit more for the C7K due to added inclusions such dimming zones and better speakers. Appears that Retravision deal is indeed a better deal

      • Dimming zones??

It's micro LED? Why would it have zones?

        • +1

Quite a few dimming zones when each led can be dimmed :^)

        • +2

It's Mini-LED, so depending on the density of the backlight, there is an amount of dimming zones. MicroLED is a very different tech that is not yet in mainstream TV's, that instead of using an LCD panel with an LED based backlight, uses the LED's themselves to show the image.

          At 65" the C6K has 242, the C7k has 1008, and the C8k has 1680.

The jump from 242 to 1008 is going to make a huge difference when it comes to HDR/Dolby Vision and especially in regards to blooming.

          • @witheredcouch: Thank you for this. Up till this point I assumed micro/ mini LED was used interchangeably.

Also, the led density information between models is much appreciated. I'll hold off on this and look at the C7K or Sami OLED.

            • @tunzafun001: Happy to help you out, it's confusing in how similarly they are named whilst being wildly different tech.

Just a heads up for anyone using fetch, the fetch universal remote function doesn’t work on my current or previous tcl tv despite documentation saying otherwise and a lot of trial and error, I will not be buying another, also get the occasional glitch turning on with other gadgets but mostly ok next try, still fairly happy but will pay extra next time for a better brand

    • TV control works on mine (TCL C855) for power on and volume with a Fetch Mighty.

      No HDMI-CEC though.

      • I've mightily struggled to get the remote pairing going on my Google TV streamer… frustrating. Kinda works now for whatever reason but not super well

      • I guess that means that I couldn't control via the Nvidia Shield controller. That would be a deal breaker.

        • Just a note for anyone reading this later. The C6K in this deal does have HDMI-CEC and works just fine with the Nvidia shield remote.

  • great price. if i was looking for one would definitely buy

Maybe Cheaper @ TGG and if you have those Discount vouchers plus Gift card 5% off.

and local pick up. Appliance online would still be cheaper but just another option

For those who are happy to pay a little more, I spoke to Madison at AO and she sold me the 65" C7K for $1,180 delivered to 4300. There's a 3 week wait for stock though.

    • How did you get that price? I tried calling and they only offered what the website was showing $1,303.

      • I tried too but $1303 is the best price atm and just got the $70 referral credit promo on top

    • just got this price too, thanks bud!

  • Can someone tell me the distance between the feeeet

    • It's a single solid base afaik - not left and right separate feet

    • 102cm at the back
      118cm at the front

Just had mine delivered by AO, happy with both the tv and customer service.
