What Happens to Cashback When an Item Is Refunded after The Cashback Has Been Received?

Hi, I bought an item about 6 months ago for a few thousand $ and got a nice cashback thanks to a deal on this site. Received the cashback and all good

The item however developed a fault whilst under warranty and the manufacturer has eventually given me the option of replacement or full refund.

I am just wondering, if I take the refund, will they subtract the cashback amount and send the money back to the cashback company?

Or are their systems generally not that advanced and I will just get to keep it??

Any ideas?

      Thank you, yes that is what I want to do.

      The problem is that if they somehow remove the cashback from the refunded amount I will end up out of pocket as I need to buy the item again and the cashback is much less now

        No you won't.

        You'll end up with the amount before your purchase…

    The cashback amount is not stated on the receipt so it cannot be deducted. You should get the figure on your receipt if refunded.

    No different than if you clicked through a Google Shopping referral link where they get the cashback/affiliate referral fee. It's not deducted from you if returning the item.

      i originally skimmed through the op and thought they meant , will sb go back and deduct from their sb account/bank… but now that i re-read it im not so sure lol

    Make an ebay listing for a little less than RRP. Get replacement if it sells. Dropship to buyer.

    The retailer will not deduct the cashback from your receipt. And the cashback company won't take the cashback away (assuming it's already been paid out).
