Good find, clearing out the non Matter products !

    Thx

    • clearing out the non Matter products?

      • +8

        Yes, because they don't matter.

      • +1

        As a matter of fact…

    • -3

      But these are Matter-compatible.

    • +11

I was trying to explain this technology to my Italian father-in-law and he kept saying "whats-a-matter?"

      • +1

        Gotta-no-respect!

  • Other than swelling Gerry's coffers, this is a good deal. Slim profile too. Grabbed two. Think last couple I bought were $22 each from somewhere else.

  • +1

Thanks grabbed one of each for Christmas light automation.

  • Time to use your $50 gift card!

  • good price

  • Thanks O.P., got 2.

  • dang, no in stock in darwin and only 2 available for delivery online, rip.

  • Thanks OP. Got 4.

    • All on the same order? Mine maxed out at 2 (click and collect)

      • I had to place 2 orders. 2 in each order, click and collect.

        • same

  • Cheers OP :)

  • +1

Great product. Have been happy with all my Tapo branded stuff so far, including several of the power monitoring plugs.

But nontheless, that's a hard pass. Not a single cent of mine going to gerry.

  • OOS - in VIC

  • $16 delivery for two!! No thanks Gerry

  • Delivery cost offset the saving. Gerry really know how to do business, i hope amazon will match it with free shipping

  • No stock nearby

My experience with these has not been good, don't know if they ever fixed the issue where the relay fails in such a way that it continuously and rapidly switches on/off, I experienced this failure.

    • +2

Same experience for me. I owned two of these and both failed a short time apart with a continuous clicking sound.

      • +1

I think somebody mentioned before, don't use it on high power device, it will fail.

        • +1

It's not even high draw devices, I had less than an amp on mine. I'd avoid them unless you don't care about what's plugged into it.

    • +5

Yea had a few go bad. Imagine trying to save a few bucks a year in power and the continuous rapid ON/OFF ruins a $2k device connected to it.

    • +1

      Same issue

    • +2

4 out of 5 have failed for me

    • +2

Ive had at least 4 of these fail on me. Luckily they were still within warranty. I mostly use mine for phone chargers

    • Damn… thanks for the heads up.

I seem to have been lucky so far, but it's not worth the risk. :(

  • +3

Thanks OP, just price matched with JB and used gift card. Good for those without stock near

    • +1

      Only the $5 one eh

      • Nah they did the $7 one

        • +1

You are lucky then, JB don't have P110 only P110M and P100. So only $5 ones are supposed to be price matched

        • Hmm they told they don't stock that. Do you have a link?

        • I have no luck for the $7 too. Got 5 of the $5 from JB, cheaper shipping cost from JB too

    • In the past I've price matched at JB against a Matter one. Chat rep had no idea of the difference and they just approved the price match

^— FYI twin pack for $18 … while not as cheap as $5, it seems to be available at more store (or at least nearby to me)

    https://www.harveynorman.com.au/tp-link-tapo-mini-smart-wifi…

^— no idea how they figure this pricing out … 4 pack is $48 !! get's more expensive the more you buy!

    • +1

      Apostroph’e’s do’n’t thou’g’h

    • +1

Thanks. I ended up getting the double pack. I have had a single P100 that has been working great in my garage since July 2022 with my car battery recharger (basically turns on for 2 hours each day).
The new ones will be put against my Home PC and the other a spare.
I have a Keep Connect Router Reboot device (1000% recommend) that makes sure my internet is always up and so this makes running my Tapo devices remotely an almost 99.99% possibility while I'm away on long holidays. Hooking the new one to my Home PC gives me the extra ability to do an emergency reboot (does not help if I get a BIOS screen though). :-)

  • Think these are the ones I have and they’ve been great. (Energy monitoring)

  • site says requested qty not available when trying to add to cart

  • +1

What app do people use for this?

    • +1

      Tapo

    • +1

One is to turn on my car battery charger on for two hours a day and the other will be for the Home PC for remote reboots.

  • OOS for delivery to east Syd. Fk

  • OOS SA

  • Thanks price beat at bunnings for $6.30 each for P110

    • Do you have to email or can you chat or call?

      • +3

Head instore, show them the harvey norman page. It's really easy as long as there is at least 1 in stock in the state
For NSW it was HN Gordon that had stock

  • +1

No luck price match with JB,was told not the same model.anyone else had luck?

  • Thanks OP!

Grabbed two of the normal, and two of the energy monitoring for click and collect.

  • I have a couple of these that I purchased a few years ago, but never used as a few people in the comments reported that they are a fire risk.

I have no idea how much truth there is to this, but would love to know otherwise.

    • +1

Mine died like a week out of warranty. If it was plugged in it just made a rapid clicking noise.

  • Got a price match from JB. Don't want to spend time going to Bunnings and ask for a price beat in store

    • +2

JB refused to price match for me saying it was OOS

      • $5 one or $7. they refuse to price match for the $7 one. they didn't ask me my location price matched straight away. received ready to pick up message. I am in WA, HN has stock in WA but a bit far for me. my local JB and bunnings has stock

      • Same, agent said no stock but when I checked JB's listing, multiple stores around me had stock

  • +2

Same price at Joyce Mayne if you couldn't find stock at HN https://www.joycemayne.com.au/tp-link-tapo-mini-smart-wifi-s…

    • Not for long. I noticed QTY avail dropped each time I refreshed cart, from 3 to 2 to 1 :-)

    • Thanks! Was in Bunnings to do price match but Harvey Norman went oos.

Thankfully was able to show this and got it matched

  • Now out of stock so JB wont price match. Went out of stock in Mt barker SA whilst I was in queue

  • +1

    OOS now.

  • +2

Ordered 2 for pick up QLD loganholme , got an email your order has been delayed for 2 weeks ,lol will see if they get cancelled

  • -1

If you don't need matter I think this is good

  • OOS, shame, these plugs are great.

  • Good price but missed

  • +1

Got TGG to price match when the chat agent took an hour to serve me and item was then OOS with HN. They honoured it and got 3 P110's for $21 ($1 OOP after $20 store cash). Thanks OP!

    • Will it work if I try now?

  • Since I set up HomeAssistant with a Zigbee 3 dongle, I plan on replacing every single device with zigbee to get rid of all these WiFi devices that become useless when the Opticomm stops working.

  • +1

    Oos

  • +1

Maybe have a google of "tp-link click of death" before you join the horde of 126+ to buy this crap.

  • Aaaaand it’s gone

  • +1

    Work of professionals…

  • I've ordered 4 x p100 from JB but would rather have p110. If anyone in Sydney wanna swap 2x p100 for 1x p110, ill be gladly to do so.

  • +3

Hey all, looks like amazon have the power monitoring ones for $7 now too - https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0BNDW7N3S

edit: Also I believe if you get 3 or more, they're 25% off (10% off for 2+, 15% off for 3+). Getting 5 came down to $26.25
