      • 4 for $21, means if you buy 3+, it will be $5.25 each

  • +3

    Thanks bought 5 for $26.25

    • +1

3 or more same $5.25 each

  • oos?

  • +4

Well that was quick. I just wanted one but people needed 5?

    • +1

Yeah I need 5. I use them all over home to automatically turn lamps/lights on when it gets dark etc.

      • +1

Interesting. Just bought me one. Looks like they felt bad so put back in stock for me

      • Please tell me you do this because you're not at home???

        • Some I do like backyard festoon lights that have to be hooked up around to the garage.

Otherwise more so if no one is home we put the lights on to come home to or to show that someone might be home

    • Back in stock now

    • +9

I like to daisy chain three of them together.

  • +4

Are these the ones that die after a while?

    • +5

Yes, so buy a few extra

      • +1

        Thanks dear

    • +1

yes from what I read in many comments, the one with energy monitoring is the one with more that die.

also they don't sell it anymore, but the Kasa ones were better because they stored the schedule inside the plug. it will keep schedule even if the internet is down. the Tapo ones all rely on cloud.

it's not the most common requirement these days, but some people want that function to keep running with internet outage.

      • I only have the p100 that doesn't have energy monitoring, at least 4 have died within 6 months - 2 years

        • ok this was what I learned by reading comments in a old post.

most failures were the Energy monitoring model.

I have a couple non energy monitoring. both Kasa and Tapo. they have been going 1+ years now still working just fine. lower energy devices though like a couple lights and a fan plugged into one Tapo.

          • @n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: They usually fail out of the blue after a couple of years in my experience. All x12 of my (Kogan in my case) ones died between year 2 & 3. None were managing anything other than lights etc so low power. All my Meross ones (x10) are still going strong 3 years in.
Luck of the draw I suspect as Kogans were fine for 2+ years and then slowing the all failed with the clicking issue like reported with these.

          • @n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: I don't have any of the power monitoring ones, so I guess it's a good thing or the failed figure would be higher. I can't even get out of the cycle because i keep getting them replaced when they fail

            • @MeesusEff: sorry I misread your comment above. thought you said they died within 6 months. missed the - 2 years part.

actually my Kasa ones which I got ages ago must be almost over 2 years old, and still going fine.

they stopped making the Kasa, so got Tapo after that. they are the ones around 1 year old still doing fine. hopefully keep going like the Kasa ones.

Saw it from here and ordered, $5.25 each if more than 3.

I think @cptnawesome posted it first in HN's deal.

  • Wow so cheap. Bought 5.

  • Just purchased 5! Not seeing a limit of 1 either.

    Thanks OP!

  • Thanks OP. Got 3. The discount was applied at the checkout.

  • use buy now instead of add to cart

  • Main reason for cheap price is no support for smart home protocol Matter

    • I don't think that is the reason, they just matched Hardly Normal

    • +6

The Matter ones (P110M) have a revised switching circuit which apparently doesn't have the failure issues compared to the P110. I've had a P110M running for 12 months on a 9A EV charger without issue.

  • +1

Got 6 for $29.40 thanks guys

    • +1

If you know you know 🧙‍♂️

    • I thought 3+ $5.25 each

  • Just bought 5 $26.25 delivery in 3 weeks

    • Yeah shows delivery as estimated Oct 13 - Oct 23

    • I second that.

    • +1

Meross do slim matter ones now, they are ace

  • Thanks OP. Bought 5 for $26.25

  • This pricing is wild, bought five just in case I need any in the future. Last I bought these they were $18 each, which I thought was a good deal!

  • OOS

  • Looks like OOS, just updated to 0 quantity when going through the cart.

  • +2

Dang, looks like i missed out again!!! Actually needed a few of these shakes fist at you lucky sods that bought without a purpose

  • That was quick, OOS

  • No more :(

  • oos

  • What do people use this for? The computer for overcurrent protection? I bought some anyway..

      • Geez. I am planning to use that on my Dyson Hot and Cold cos sometime I forgot to turn off the heater :( not good la

  • just snuck in earlier and got 3… thanks OP

  • -2

These are not the new mini version right?

Good luck putting 2 on the same outlet if they are the old style

    • +1

These are mini FYI (just received).

Measuring just 76.5mm x 43.5mm x 42mm, this mini plug fits neatly into any power outlet without blocking the second socket.

  • Great deal. Just a shame there's none left. You all needed 5+ right? Just checking. 😉

  • Why did i just order 3 of these?

    • -2

      You snooze you lose.

Not really a tosser if we're using them for legitimate reasons.

    • $10.50 would still be a pretty good deal.

    • 5 limit so I don't think worth reselling.

  • Was planning to get some P110M but they are currently sitting at $27 a pop. Ordered 5 of these which is cheaper than one P110M! Know these ones are easy to break but 5 should get me through while I wait for discount on P110M. Win! ✌️

  • missed it

    • yeah I wanted a few. not 5 but maybe 2 or 3.

      • +1

        Hi late

  • +5

Thanks, bought 0 because I have no use for them.

    • +3

You saved more than anyone who bought this deal, well done!

    • Same, I could not think of any usecase for this. Resisted impulse buying.

  • Is it OK to use it to monitor my fridge? Not going to use it to turn if off of course.

    • Someone said it's recommended for high power appliances that can cause shorten lifespan.

    • +1

I’ve had my fridge plugged into one of these P110’s for about year with no issues at all

      • cos u wanted to switch the fridge off at times or just monitoring power? any cool findings?
