      It's top quality

        Top CuaLity

      • TCL is an under-rated brand
This deal is an absolute bargain for anyone looking for a new TV

    • Got an 86 for less last year. 75s have popped around the 800 mark since COVID

      • -5

Ah right right I was thinking 85". Yeah I just checked, my 75" was at 750

      • What deal or TV was this? Also have a good deal 85+

        • Looking for an 85+ actually, what's the deal?

          • @do-ob: I'm so sorry mate I mean to say also AFTER a good deal for an 85+

  • -4

How is the 60hz? I have old one and whenever I watched the movie it feels like I am watchig very slow kind of movie, everything feels pretty slow in motion.

    • +13

Movies are usually at 24fps, so unless your TV is below that in HZ then you theoretically should not feel a difference .. at 60hz you should only notice it on the UI of the tv and not the actual movies themselves

      • +4

Could be that their previous T.V had frame interpolation or motion smoothing on by default and they didn't realise, so when they went back to watching stuff at 24fps it didn't look good to them

        • +4

The gross soap opera effect lol

  • +3

Be aware this is not the better Mini LED TV.

    • -1

      That's right. P series = poor man's TV

  • -1

    It's 120hz. Any 65 inch deals?

  • 350nits peak brightness seems low. The mini LED was around 1000.

But it will be about 1/4 more efficient..

    • This or TCL 65 C6K??

      • -2

C6K is a huge step up in image quality.

      • -1

C6k better brightness and image quality (but more power).

But …C7K has almost 4 times the number of mini LEDs (better control). So I expect cheap c6ks.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago for $764 at TGG, bargained a bit on online chat as I went to JB and retravision asking for their previous $845 deal. Retravision do a free delivery too so that works out cheaper, have I went back to TGG saying your delivery adds $59 on top, give me something better and eventually the nice lady agreed to do it for $764.
It's a great TV, unless you always keep chasing for the next best thing or have a postcode povvo mentality you'll be fine.
I was on the fence for about a year or so, have owned a Soniq 43" for the last 10 yrs, didn't want to change TV as it was still going great, but had a deal too good to pass as I was switching between a projector and TV for big screen viewing.

I still feel guilty for spending that money and I don't use TV much (once in 2-3 weeks), just that I don't want my kid feeling entitled which kept me from pulling the trigger.
Don't worry about all this brightness nits crap, refresh rate, dimming zones, bang & Olufsen, random voodoo and so on. I'm a software/IT dude all my life (2+ decades) and I know all that and there's always a better spec'ced TV or gadget out there every day.

I have a bright living area and this TV does absolutely great in all conditions, day or night. A great (guilt) upgrade if you're on the market and really want one.

    • -2

After 3 decades in the software/IT world you really do see the benefit of more dimming zones , higher nits value etc especially in a bright room whilst watching a "moody" TV show with lots of dark scenes.

      • +1

Nope, I've still got a very good eyesight and happy with what I see. Tried a few different things, sport, movie soap etc. absolutely a pleasure to watch.
But hey, I'm a simple guy, I only buy for my needs and this was a "want" πŸ˜…

      Horses for courses.

I have a TCL non mini LED with slightly better specs than this (C65X) and a base model mini LED model (C75X). The non mini LED is rubbish in comparison, both during the day and night. The difference is clearly noticeable even for my wife.

It doesn't matter who you are, 350 nits in a bright room looks dull, and no local dimming zones results in glowing greys instead of blacks at night. Sounds like you're just used to it and don't realise how much better it can get.

      • -1

This one is the P7K but yeah like I said my eyes are in great shape so I'm happy with this. I get it ,TVs / gadgets will keep getting better, guess we all can imagine how better it can get with tech advancements and anything you buy today is technically rubbish and obsolete in that sense.
Absolutely, 350 vs 1000 would be noticeable, but does it make a bad viewing experience on this? absolutely not.
It's a great TV for the price and would last me a lifetime (considering my 10yr old TV is still going strong and that would have lasted too in fact 😊)
But hey, I would like an extra $m any day.

        • -2

The P7K is worse across the board compared to the C65. The C6K is much better than both of them.

$837.25 INCLUSIVE of delivery at RetraVision at checkout 15% off of $985) plus a $125 gift card, so effectively $712.25 ?

Blimey that’s so cheap. Bought a TCL 75" C655 for nearly $1000 delivered in June. I know it has more brightness and is slightly better but I would have preferred saving my $$$.

      • Same here, now that I saw the retravision gift card on top, I guess I should have waited another 3 weeks and I think I could have gone back to TGG to get it to $710 incl. delivery.
Got it for $823 incl. delivery couple of weeks ago. Feels bad 😐

        • Not as bad as mine. Oh well we have some great tellies though.

    • Can I use Retravision to pricematch/negotiate if they don't have any stores in your state?

    • +1

Got this and was sent a $175 gift card not $125. Winning!

      • +2

Doh! That would be me mixing models up.. - Malcolm

  • On the fence on this one, anyone has any clue that how good this for games Nintendo console ?

  • All saying over $900 - was this a 1 day thing? but the retrovision gift card still there.
    ahh needs jb hifi perks

JB phone line was slow so just did the Retravision. Hopefully their bronze thing is drop shipped and not so bad.

  • I bought a TCL a few years ago (maybe 4?) Apps don't work anymore because it won't update to the new version, I have had to use a chromecast for streaming services. I wouldn't buy TCL again, how can it become unsupported in such a short time??

  • How likely are we to get the C7K 65" under 1000 this year?
