    To be fair, what more can expensive android tablets do? Run windows? No. These are just toys for rich folks who have enough money they literally dont know what to do with it.

      Actually, some Android tablets can run Windows. Or Linux. - at least they did in the past.

      The real alternative is a Windows tablet (not cheap either) or ChromeOS.
      But an iPad Pro with magic keyboard and macOS would be awesome.
      Like a Surface Pro, but with a good OS :)

      iPad Pro starts at same price as macbook, and Apple have always ripped you off for upgrades.
      I'll bet Apple has a build of macos running on Ipad pro, for internal research purposes.

        For me, the apple hardware is the best part, its the Mac OS that sucks (purely personal preference. Not biased as I am typing this on personal MBP). My point is, use a cheap tablet like the $450 ipad for reading and use a 13 or 15" laptop - mac 13/15 or Windows if you want to use keyboard. The comfort of a sturdy keyboard is so much easier for typing when sitting on a bed or public chair (like airports/parks etc) compared to a add on ipad keyboard(which prefers a desk), and also now you have 2 devices that 2 people can use simultaneously for similar price. The data can always be synched via the cloud or the browsing carried over from device to device.

          @John Doh: When you say "OS", you mean the GUI, I assume? Because as an actual OS, Windows is horrid. Even Microsoft uses Linux for their servers now.

          Does nobody sell a rigid-hinged keyboard for iPad to turn it into a laptop?

            @bargaino: I hate everything on macOS except the integrated terminal for development. Dunno who sells hinged keyboard, but I would prefer 2 devices like how I am currently using, a simple ipad with mac book pro and a windows desktop for gaming and stuff.
