  • Is this any better in taste than lime blue? Considering it but it's a big order to commit to for a similar price.

i suggest holding off. they regularly go 40-60% off without the commitment of 5kg.

        Time to find 4 friends.

I am finding a lot of odd beans inside a lime blue bag. Sometimes the beans are fragmented/deformed or hollow.

I gave up on LB years ago when I found I couldn't get a consistent grind over multiple batches. I've never had that issue with any other Ozb roaster.

      • +1

I had this issue too and they were reluctant to admit

      • Yeah haven't been overly impressed with the quality of the last two orders. Went back to Inglewood for this. Love downtown blend

    • +1

Overall, Inglewood has much better quality and generally better tasting. I'm regretting the few kilos from Lime Blue last sale. It's not totally bad, but I'll be having mid tasting coffee for a few months. But that's me. YMMV

    • Personally I prefer Inglewood. Haven't bought Lime Blue for a while though…I probably need to give them another go.

My partner is going to lose her mind when she sees all the coffee in the freezer.

        "What, this old thing?"

Their coffee is decent if you ask me

They are worth the RRap but they sale 40-50% so much its decent value at a steep discount

But so is aldi Ethiopian beans.. probably better and only $32 a kg.

      • I thought Aldi has Brazilian, Colomubian SO and Lux beans! Have not heard of Ethiopian beans.

        • They're in the blue bags at $15.99 per 500g

I think they do a Guatemala too. They're limited edition so won't be around forever. Won best bean by major retailer 2025.

The Ethiopian has characteristics of the region which is nice as all their other beans don't. Think red berries, boozy type notes.

You can find a lot better but you'll pay $65-$80 a kg.

          • @Combo64: I need to try these
Recently happy with the ALDI Colombia beans

            • @notauser: I've got these in my grinder right now! For some reason though they came up at $27 a kg now?? Bit steep if you ask me.

          • @Combo64: Interesting. I'm going to have to keep an eye out for this.

I really like that general flavour profile, and I get pretty enthusiastic for anything Yirgacheffe.

            Of course…now I've just ordered a heap of Inglewood…so…

        • love Aldi Single Origin Colombian in 1 kg beans bag.

hard to get, always out of stock.

          • @simba-au: Is it "Lazzio"?
I'm willing to give it a try if you folks recommend.

  • Used to buy them quite often (Sunset Blvd), but found that recently wasn't liking it BUT thought I'd try a couple of their special edition blends. Actually really liked their Sugar Daddy and also their 888 blend

  • Anyone able to suggest the blend closest to lime blue 'thank you' blend?

    • +2
I suggest Roosevelt maybe an alternative
      )
  • Majority of costco beans range from 22-27 a kg heaps to choose from. The kirkland ones are $36 for 1.36kgs. I'll stick to those in this economy 😂

    • Any reason why you prefer costco vs the aldi beans? That's what we use and seems to be popular here too

      • +1

No no i mean theres like 8 different brand's apart from the Kirkland. So theres cooffeex, republica, segafredo, hustle and bustle and few others under 30 a kg

        • coffex is on sale with Costco now. Has anyone tried it?

  • +1

Should list free delivery (free over $100 which you'll eventually meet if you buy 5kg)

    • Yep, might change based on your location though
