Tenda TE6L Pro BE5100 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 7 Router $119 + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ Umart

50

I bought this device from Centre com. It's out of stock at centre com but same price in Umart. Working great with my 500mbps fttp internet. It says wifi 7 but it supports dual channel 5ghz and 2.4ghz only.

If you're planning to upgrade your ROUTER, this one is a bad one based on the comments.

2.5G WAN OK, but why only 1G LAN ports? What a bottleneck!

Given the price, it's not a shock.

  • I must be blind but cant see the sqm coverage? And if I have got the 500mpbs internet, is this modem good enough to game with? Connect via Lan and over wifi

  • This is not a modem right.

    • haha. Guessing the OP is an English as second language speaker, because I have uncles and aunties who calls anything which gives them internet a modem. And calls a computer a "hard drive" hahaha

    • Nope. this is just a router for FTTP/HFC NBN. Well, you can still use this if you have existing modem and use it as bridge mode or just a modem.

So FTTN -> telephone socket -> Modem -> This router.

    • That's right. If you're one of the poor souls still on FTTN and with no free upgrade being offered to FTTP, you'll need a VDSL modem (or use your supplied modem from your ISP and use this in bridge mode).

      • I'm on fttb….

          • @xyron: According to nbn you need a vdsl2 modem for fttb

            • @CachePC: Ah sorry quite right, I always think of FTTB as actually like proprietary systems for apartment blocks like Opticomm, which provide ethernet directly into the unit.

  • FYI 3×3 MU-MIMO

  • It says wifi 7 but it supports dual channel 5ghz and 2.4ghz.

5725-5850MHz(CH149-CH165) is what is called 6G

    • So it is not a TRUE Triple Band WiFi 7 rounter! Even Flint3 is Triband WiFi7

  • NBN received an upgrade to 750Mbps. If not this router, what would people recommend under say $250-$300?

Gl.inet Flint 2, or 3 if you really want Wifi 7.

      • I returned my Flint 3 to Amazon - instant credit as Gift credit - its a nice router but doesn't do mesh or play nicely with IINET routers as an AP

        • That's fair. I don't need/use mesh.

          • @soymeat: Yes - and otherwise its an excellent router with great open OS I'm planning on leaving TPG/IINET crap, won't need their inept service, 4G failover (as you can do this yourself with your own plan on newer routers, including Flint 3!) and forget the TPG VOIP which fails at least 20% of the time!
And GL-inet have good support, including with private DM through their support website and email

    • Or if your not looking to spend much, get optus modem. You can pick one up for $20-30

      I'm using a f@st 5366

Depends. For most houses, you will either need access points (if your house has ethernet wiring done) or mesh. The 2.4GHz band can't provide sufficient speed (range is good, but speed is too limited) so you want to use 5GHz.

Then, you need to decide whether you want to aim for the ability to support 2Gbps (though that will require an NTD upgrade). This WiFi 7 cuts too many corners and is more like a WiFi 6 router. WiFi 7 is complicated and MLO so far is disappointing.

Wait for a good deal on OZB. You want a router that support mesh or go for a mesh kit (unless you have ethernet wiring at your place, then you want access points).

  • I have an Asus AX54HP router, would I see a noticeable speed increase on the tpg super fast nbn plan?

  • Umart has the worst after sales service, if somethings goes wrong good luck getting a refund or warranty repair!

I also found the same router on aliexpress for $70.29 aud if anyone is interested https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005009139441017.html?src=google&pdp_npi=4%40dis!AUD!187.93!86.69!!!!!%40!12000048055828807!ppc!!!

    • Not IMHO - a year ago I returned a Simplecom USB A/c External drive - had to jump a lot of hoops directly with Simplecom, but in the end got a refund

      • Took my 3 months to get a GPU replaced through these clowns.

  • Tenda not to be mixed up with Tenga

If you know, you know. 😁
