I own a Samsung S22 Ultra that’s about five months out of warranty.
While the phone was on low battery and connected to a nearly flat power bank, an automatic scheduled software update kicked in.
The phone died mid-update and, after restarting, got stuck in a boot loop. I tried multiple force reboots and Safe Mode, but nothing worked.
I took it to Samsung customer service, but since it’s out of warranty, they quoted me $670 for repairs.
I’ve asked for the case to be escalated under Australian Consumer Law and am waiting to speak with a customer agent.
Has anyone here managed to get a phone repaired after the warranty expired?
Keep pushing your ACL rights, mate. I had to often push ACL rights on Apple for a heap of iPod Touches within 12 months of expired warranty (business I worked for had lots of these) and they always folded. Hopefully Samsung honour their obligations.
