Oh my.. That is so cheap!

  • Pretty good price for NFC

    Pay ya tic ya dawg

    • Yeah brah, you know I'm good for it aye, just tic us a stick and I'll fix you up of Thursdy when me dole comes in.

    • +2

I honestly hated mine and returned it

I bought a Pro 5 back in 2023 and it's been nothing but great for me wearing it every day since. Admittedly I'm not a heavy user of apps on it, but the dual screen feature means that I only ever have to charge it for an hour twice a week and all the features on it have worked perfectly.

Pretty good watch until it wasn't. Just had my touch screen die on my Pro 5 after 14 months. Just outside the 1 year warranty. Annoyingly it still works, but with the touchscreen not registering any touches, I have no way of controlling the watch outside of the crown and side buttons.

If I buy another watch, I would probably focus on getting one with a longer warranty.

    • May be try accessibility settings, might help you to control it

      • Not a bad idea, will take a look.

At this stage I will drag it along until the Black Friday sales. Aiming to get a Pixel Watch 4. The fact it is user repairable is a huge bonus.

        • How is it user repairable?

          • @Jackson: Its one of the new features highlighted in the marketing. It has a user repairable design. There are easy to access screws located under the watch straps to open the case up. Components like the battery or the screen have been designed for easy replacement. There is no use of adhesives in the design. iFixit havent yet reviewed it, as it is not yet released, but the repairability score is expected to be very high. In comparison, the Pixel Watch 3 had a poor score at 4/10.

It is believed this is due to the new EU Right to Repair regulations that were announced. They are not enforced yet, but they will be enforced by 2027.

Garmin and most others only have 1 year warranty, I believe

    • credit cards usually have extended warranties - if you bought on CC

      • Bought it on Ebay, but used gift cards for the extra discount. So cant claim the extended warranty through my credit card.

It was the first thing I checked when I saw it was out of warranty. Good argument for more expensive items if you want to preserve your warranty, dont use gift cards.

        • damn - bad luck

    • +1

Similar experience with my 3 pro, but had issues with battery and the watch no holding charge. Tried to get it replaced under ACL cause lasted about 18 months.

They don't care about ACL and offered a measly discount on their 5 range. Not worth buying it just for it to contribute to e-waste.

      Good deal, poor quality.

      • That is frustrating. The battery life was one of the reasons I completely skipped the earlier generations of most smart watches.

I wish I could say that my Pro 5 had more issues, but it had been working great. It was a good watch and it battery life was its biggest advantage. 2-3days of battery life was doable. Gave it a 15min top up every morning while I showered, but outside of that, it never needed charging.

        • Pro 5 had more issues
so you dont have it anymore? how long you had it before you sold?

          • @McMaferMur: What? Maybe you should read my earlier messages, that should answer your questions. No I havent sold it.

            • @FuRyZ: ah yeah i missed this Pretty good watch until it wasn't. Just had my touch screen die on my Pro 5 after 14 months. Just outside the 1 year warranty.

  • Shame they stopped lte versions

You can get a used Galaxy Watch 6 for about the same price if that's more interesting to you.

    • +1

Indeed. Older Galaxy Watch for this is fine. Even discounted more-recent Galaxy Watches during clearance at Officeworks with gift cards turn out to be much better value

      • but i just not happy with the battery life of galaxy watches (not the 5 pro or the ultra)

    • +3

      However-
This has an always on LCD screen which will have far more battery life than even the Galaxy Watch Ultra.

Also has a way better processor than the 6 and below.

(Now I know some of you will say 'who needs a better processor on a watch?' I agreed, till my Watch 5 Pro started lagging heavily for a few minutes every ~3 hours. It's a blight on what's supposed to be a premium watch.)

      • agree the battery is just sucks on GW

      • Using a pro 3 ultra and this is the killer feature. Prior to that I had the e2 and it was fine but I got one for a friend and they had battery issues after 18 months

  • +2

yes lots people on reddit also regretted getting this. mostly touch issue and then waterproofing and not charging - all after 6-8 months
maybe buy from amazon when they are price matching, for easy return

    • How to get a price match from the Amazon? I thought the Amazon doesn't have price match policy

      • no i mean when amazon matched mobvoi price - sometimes they do

  • +1

I was a kickstarter supporter of Ticwatch E back in 2017, but so glad I didn't buy this when it went down to $199 few months ago. Bought the Galaxy Watch 7 for less than $199 (coupons/trade-ins, etc.. we know how it works!) and then upgraded to Watch 8 Classic (thanks Ozbargain for keeping my credit card active!)

  • I had a ticwatch pro gps 3 for $200 and regretted it. For $99 this is a good deal if you treat it as disposable. I've downgraded to redmi watch 5 lite. $60 and has 5x the battery life, but without wearos

  • Casio F91W!

    • For the win

  • +1

I've had one for a few months now, no issues and highly recommend.

  • Is it too large to fit on a thin wrist?

  • Had Ticwatch 3 Pro Ultra and it was great watch while it lasted. Started having battery bulging issue that cracked the screen. Good for 12 months only.

  • Damn. Great price. I moved from pixel 2 watch and this is way better battery, and overall. Only downside is the styles are more suited to men. I'd replace my wife's pixel watch with one, but it's a bit bulky for her tastes. So she'll have to just put up with the battery dying if she forgets to charge it every day lol

  • I have had 3 TicWatches and have since moved to Pixel Watch. I will never buy a TicWatch again. On paper and in theory they're excellent and they look fantastic but there's always a game breaking software bug with them. All 3 I've had, 3 different software issues. Also, software updates pretty much don't exist. They'll do one through its life and seeya later, bugs and all.

  • moved to watch 5 pro after my tic watch pro 3 LTE died. Same battery life. No regrets.

  • These seems to get terrible user feedback, but this price is great

How does this compare to a OnePlus watch 3? They are around $300 from AliExpress. Seems much better, but the ticwatch is looking cheap

    • +1

This thing is hit and miss. I returned mine twice to amazon as they suddenly stopped working. Oneplus seems better choice.

  • Mine died after 18 months in July. Went into an unrecoverable bootloop.
It was purchased through Amazon - who refunded me the entire purchase amount after a short troubleshooting session.

Great from Amazon, kinda expected it would go this way from Ticwatch. Great specs, and great watch when it works.

Have moved to a Oneplus Watch 3. Massive improvement in all regards for not a great deal more $$.
However at this price, the TW is worth a shot.

  • Using the Pro 5 Enduro with Strava for running;
I find the Strava watch app works well. With the Tic-exercise watch app the activity details are correct in Mobihealth, but the upload to Strava always shows the pace faster than it should be and the event duration less than it should be. Has anyone else noticed this?

  • Ticwatch pro 5 enduro user here. Hands down, best watch I've had. The double screen feature is awesome. I can go 7 days no charge. Or 3 days heavy use. I cannot go to a watch with daily charging.

    • +1

for how long you own this?

  • Buyer beware dealing with Mobvoi - do not buy direct, Get it through a seller with an actual warranty

  • Forewarning to prospective buyers, Most Tic watch models WILL suffer from degrading battery life and bulging batteries eventually that will kill the screen
Not to mention non existent upgrade/software support
    I've had a Ticwatch E, E2, 3 ultra GPS and now a Ticwatch Atlas
Every one (except the Atlas so far…) has suffered with battery issues, the only reason I went back with the Atlas was because there was no other cheapish WearOS watch with a big chunky bezel to protect the face from getting smashed while I'm at work

    • I wouldn't say non existent upgrade, Wear OS3 eventually came lol.

  • I'm a massive fan of the xiaomi mi bands. $50 odd bucks. Around 2 weeks battery barky know you're wearing them.
