Mobile version is terrible, hides the email field. Use. A desktop version if you have issues with the signup page

      • +1

        Yep, worked fine on desktop

I don't need high-res aerial photos. But I've signed up because it's free. Thanks

    • +3

    • +3

perth airport is aug 2020 to feb 2025

    • +4

      Use the Landgate map viewer

    • +6

High resolution of Perth?? We're so far behind over here, we'd be lucky if it's in colour

  • +39

Thank you op, I was just thinking the other day I don't have enough high res aerial photos

    • +10

      Never stop thinking

  • +7

I just signed up, the image is blur, slightly better than google map. Not as clear as what I expected.

    • +3

I see what you mean - you zoom in expecting it to be clear but it's blurry.

  • +1

Thanks for this. Been chasing some updated higher res imagery of our property.

Helping out with the search for Dezi Freeman?

    • +3

Allegedly murderous Dezis should be referred to as Desmond.

  • The website is sooooo slow, maybe overloading?

    • +6

yeah, it's ozbargained now, nothing is loading for me

      • yep it was working for some time, and now all image requests are getting HTTP 503 error

      • +5

        ozbuggered

  • +1

I tried to sign up last week and didn't get an activation email. YMMV.

  • +1

I wouldn’t call it hi resolution. Apple maps and Google maps better. Limited areas. I couldn’t get pictures of a rural property.

    • +5

at least suburban Melbourne is a better quality than Google/Apple (7.5cm resolution, you can even guess models of the cars). It's just site is under heavy load and hi-res tiles are not loading most of the time. Try in a day or so.

      • +1

yeah when you set to 3d its way better

  • +1

I guess there are limitations on how well a free product is maintained.

  • they say free, then hit you with a licnese fee on commercial use because they hid some convoluted terms….

  • +12

Alternatively, NSW images of far better quality than Google can be found here https://portal.spatial.nsw.gov.au/explorer/index.html
    No sign-up required.

Other State governments may have similar. Or not.

  • +1

Signed up but looking at images, they arent high resolution for sure. They are only slighly better than google images.

    • Have you tried maybe upscaling them? Try upscayl

    • +1

the 3d ones are pretty clear, i could identify which undies were on my washing line

      • before i bother were they your wife's or your girlfriend's?

    • Agree, they are meh at best. Maybe 2.5 times the resolution of google maps.

  • +13

Nearmap used to be gold about 10 years ago when it was free !

    • This.

  • Well this was a let down. Am in Sydney and images didnt look any better than seen anywhere else.

  • Tesla tool for solar panel design might as clear?

    anz-viewer.vexcelgroup.com

Looks like it is related to ANZ bank

    • +6

It's more likely to be a regional instance for Australia and New Zealand. The company itself is Austrian.

  • thanks

    Spinning circle of doom.

  • Google Maps and Landgate maps around Perth Airport’s express pickup, drop off and exit toll booth at T3 and T4 have a lot of room for improvement. Brearley Avenue has been extended nearly a hundred meters before merging again with Snook Rd, eating into the car park to make way for a 6-lane toll booth. It has been operational for probably 2 years now, and Perth Airport has been issuing overstay fees if you stay longer than 6 minutes since 11 March 2024. The issue remains to this day that the lack of information about this on our maps has left many to learn of the exit toll booth the hard way. I’ve tried many times to add the exit toll booth and updated roads to Google Maps, but my edits are always rejected. It turns out that Landgate does have newer satellite photos than the 3 year old photos which it displays, but won’t display them unless you activate the ‘WA Now Index (LGATE-361)’ layer. Who knew? Huge props to Vexcel for making these valuable satellite images available.
