My tips:

  • Please choose a country with no GST e.g. Christmas Island. If you can, pay with a card without international transaction fees. PayPal may charge a currency conversion fee. These fees are not eligible for cashback.

What will stop me getting my cashback
  • Cashback is eligible only for new Surfshark customers opening a new Surfshark account. Renewals are ineligible for cashback.
  • Cashback is calculated and paid on the advertised cost of the plan only. It will exclude upsold products, GST, other taxes, credit card or PayPal surcharges.
  • Surfshark VPN is excluded from all signup and referral bonus thresholds. Reference the Tell-a-Friend terms for more information.

What else is essential

    Absolute trash of a VPN.

    Slow, glitchy and crap. I ditched it within 24 hours. Straight back to Nord VPN.

      I don't have the same experience. I was able to use almost full 100Mbps, now with 500Mbps plan I do see it tops out through vpn at 15-17MB/s (which might be router limitation or surfshark vpn).
      And it helps me watch prime without ads (without having to pay additional fees) - and it's full resolution on my 4k HDR TV.
      I'm not using their apps though - perhaps that could be the difference in experience.

          The ads are not "baked in", it interrupts the video stream.

          If you want to see proof DM me, I'll share a link of recording I made a few minutes ago on my android phone.
          Clearly showing ads without vpn, then vpn on and no ads anymore.
          What I do have - if I start watching a specific episode without vpn, and the ad is loaded, if you stay on the same device and then enable the vpn that ad needs to "finish" first. Any new episode or movie started afterwards will have no ads anymore.

          I might add - this works with other vpns too - I have windscribe, nordvpn, surfshark and purevpn.
          It also allows to see content that is normally not available on prime Australia.

    I think even if you use different email id to buy new subscription but use the same PayPal account or the card number it will still see you as an old customer. I tried two times in the past and cash back didn't track. Was lucky enough to cancel and got refund but I would like to know what other people do or what steps they follow so that the cash back is tracked and you are considered as a new customer. Also choosing different country will flag the mismatch in payment method address/location , isn't it ?
