Coles home brand actually did really well in the Choice investigation (43). At a quick glance Cancer Council Kids is the only one here that came in at over 50

Choice provides full access to their sunscreen test without a login:

Personally I don't muck around - the top-rated one has been my go-to for a couple of years due to high performance in both UV-A and UV-B (La Roche-Posay Anthelios Wet Skin Sunscreen). Apply it properly and it does me for the full day, no reapplication. It does cost real money, even Chemist Warehouse never has that one at 50% off.

      • I'm always uncertain whether similar products from the same brand also have the same SPF ratings, or if its drastically different.

        E.g. LRP Anthelios Invisible Fluid

        • I'm pretty sure the ingredient list is different for the various products of the LRP brand (different UV active components, not just filler stuff). When we originally chose the one we did that was due to the one specifically not containing a chemical we sought to avoid. Some of the chemicals in sunscreen aren't as stable as others and can transform into allergy causing items when stored poorly or stored for too long. So, we chose based on performance and the ingredient list - we were looking for something that remains effective and safe even if left in a hot car all summer long.

Many sunscreens out there have only half the advertised strength or less so half price is fair.

    • But then you’d still be paying full price? 🤔🤨

      • Good point

  • Any for children’s sensitive skin?

If anyone has Frank health insurance extras they can claim $50 towards the purchase of Cancer Council sunscreen each year

Two scandals with cancer council sunscreens being ineffective. I'd steer clear

You should not do any research. You aren't capable of it. Australia has the highest rate of skin cancer. You should follow the scientific consensus regarding its prevention. You are a danger to anyone under your care.

      • Had you said you're wary of sunscreens that haven't been properly tested for presence of lead, cadmium, arsenic, mercury and other contaminants I'd support your position. Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are safe to use.

What do you think is the cause/reason for the sun burn? What do you think was happening to your skin?

      • Autism obviously 🙄 Skin is turning Autistic because of the paracetamol “big autism” hide in the sunscreen.

        • Do you need to also wear a tin foil hat with your sunglasses for this to be effective?

I just go brown. My wife could have a blackout welding mask on and she will cremate in minutes.

          Concede chemical awareness is needed.

        • You're truly cooked.

        • Please enlighten us all, how does your skin "counter reacts to the sensitivity to the sun protecting your skin"? Be specific.

          Are you a chameleon?

    • steer clear from any sunscreen product

      Almost as dangerous as acee…..aceetamoban…..acetaminophen.

  • Paracetamol. He's not a nice guy!
