Not sure why the negs considering the P8P was selling for $499.

      • Marsh just attracts them wherever he goes but in this case he has a fine opinion

Maybe I'm alone in this, but for these higher priced (at least for me) phones to come with only 128gb of storage is pathetic. Especially when you consider some entry-level Motorola, Xiaomi, OPPO, etc. phones are coming with 256/512gb and Micro SD support for half the price! I get they're trying to push cloud storage and for people to pony up the $150+ for the extra 128gb internal storage, but it becomes such a throwaway device. Sorry for the rant.

I already have the Pixel 9a for work and it's been fine. Battery life has been good, call quality too. No complaints except for the chonky bezels.

    • Just checked my phone of 2 years and I've used 54gb of space. I have no social life though, is it like, group chats or something eating space? Or a work thing? Genuinely curious.

      • Good question. I'm by no means a power user or anything. I don't play games on my phone or stream any Netflix or anything. Don't often use the cameras for any social media or anything. Just general use? It just seems the storage has stagnated, but the prices keep going up.

The breakdown my main phone (Moto edge 40) is giving me is; 137gb / 256gb used.
38gb of apps, 22gb of audio, 15gb of videos, 12gb of photos, 740mb of games, 0mb of trash, 198mb of documents, 20gb of other, 29gb Android Operating System and system files.

Apparently some mobile games these days (Wuthering Waves, Genshin Impact, etc.) are upwards of 30gb each!

        • That seems reasonable. I didn't think about games or videos. With the pixel density these days it makes sense that they'd use a heap of space.

      • I'm someone who really dislikes photos and videos of myself. I assume other people feel the same, so I don't tend to record a lot unless it's really meaningful.

It has made phone storage really easy. My biggest storage usage is audible.

Yep, Apple finally increased their base storage this gen and that makes the Pixels look even worse.

This is coming from someone who doesn't even need 128GB.

    • I totally agree in principle but in practice I'm yet to find 128gb to be insufficient. It helps that since I moved away from iphones to android a few years ago its easy to transfer files on and off the phone with a usb stick
