My friend bought the 200Ah unit a few weeks ago and we took it out camping, ran our lights and fridge for 3 days no problem (could've gone longer).
This is the 300Ah unit, very good price for the amount of battery you get, it is slightly more expensive compared to buying bulk bare cells from china but with this you get an enclosure and 3 year warranty.

This is $100 less than the previously posted deal.

This is a bargain for sure! I bought mine when it was on special for $799 from memory. Usually like $1199 and then the "special" every few days or so for like $899.

    Under $700 for a 300Ah is a bargain.

Just checked when I bought mine in March, I paid $767.35 with some eBay Plus offer.

The best price I could find for direct cells form china is $719 for 315Ah 12V battery from alibaba not including delivery, this deal is way better as the cells come with a BMS, an enclosure and a warranty. Even if you were to buy them to just strip the batteries for cells this deal is worth it. (necessary if making a large, high power, battery bank for an off grid house)

      • +1

Really, MB31s are like $90aud a piece, plus shipping would be heaps cheaper than $719 delivered.

        • Evidently I didn't look hard enough, for a big battery it would be worth going to bare cells straight form China.
But for small quantities this deal is pretty amazing considering it comes in a case with BMS and warranty.

        • Can you recommend a reputable site that sells these for $90?

          • +1

@MeagerDollarBucks: They sell raw cells, which are 3.2v each and 314amp hour. You need 4 cells for 12v, you will also need a bms and some other stuff. So for about the same price you get grade a cells and a great bms.

  • Thanks OP I’ve just ordered one. What should I do with it once it arrives?

First step is connecting your electrical equipment safely.
Be very careful when hooking up cables and using wrenches around the contacts, you can give yourself a nasty burn and a big surprise if you connect the two battery terminals together. (The internal BMS should protect the battery form short circuits but i would advise against testing it)

For my friends battery we got a plastic project box from Jaycar/Altronics and cut out holes in the base of it to fit over the battery terminals.
We then used VHB tape to glue the box down, this meant once the project box is closed there was no way to accidentally short out the battery terminals.
We put a small fuse block with 10A fuses for some low power accessories like USB charger and 12V car outlet.
We put a big 100A fuse to connect to an anderson connector, that connector is used to charge the battery or run high power loads like a 240V inverter.
Most of the parts to hook up the battery to accessories we got from Jaycar/Altronics, for crimping the big leads for the anderson connector we used a hammer and anvil and squished the heck out of them.

      • Oh I thought it was a car battery for my Corolla.

        • I'll take this as a joke…

Get your husband to lift it

  • I can smell the weight of it.

    • +6

Have you tried using that as a pick up line ?

    • +2

28.5kg for 12v 300ah is not bad at all. I have the Renogy Core Mini 12v which is 25kg, a lot smaller and has 5000 cycles 80% DoD, but costs a lot more.

    • Bet it smells just like staring down a 21 piece bucket of The Colonels best.

  • +1

It was this price a few weeks ago. I'm waiting for it to go down further then I'll bite.

I'm waiting for it to drop below $200/100ah so hopefully by the end of the year

  • Need to figure out how to setup 24v ssytem in my tub now that i got this. Had a 120ah just in the back seat but this is too big to put there

At 12v this gives about 3.7kwh.

Can this be hooked up to the solar inverter?

I would love to set this up to power the house once the solar/sun goes down?

    • Your inverter would expect a battery to have 48v.

Pretty sure hooking this up would kill the battery.

      • How about buying 4 and add them together with a regulator thing?

        • The specs say you can have up to 4 series and 2 parallel, so yes you could make a 48V nominal system with these batteries.
There is some worry about battery balancing, the manufacturer says to use batteries from the same batch to reduce the risks.

  • I want to get this but Max Recommended Charge Current 150A, a search says u need 6x 350w panels.

    Anyone say less?

    • +1

      That's the maximum

  • Thanks OP, got one for the wife's corolla

  • The other day it was about $110 more with the 3000W inverter. Trying to convince myself that I need it.

  • Just don't buy most of the other kings electrical stuff
Kings mppt - NO (go victron)
Kings shunt - NO (go victron)
Kings inverter - NO (renogy maybe)
    Kings solar - ok
    Kings battery box - ok
