London Return from Sydney $1330, Melbourne $1280, Brisbane $1350 (Jan-Feb 2026) @ Lufthansa

600

Hi OzB,

piggybacking off a post from early this month re Lufthansa from PER….

For anyone looking to travel from East coast to London early next year, Lufty have some pretty good deals from Sydney. Sub-$1,500 for legacy carriers (LH, QF, SQ and LX), with baggage (23+8) and good connections.

Melbourne and BNE are about $100 more, although BNE can be under $1,500 if you can handle a JQ segment on the return leg (BKK to BNE).

I was looking SYD to LHR late January and returning late March. Yes you can get cheaper but not with connections as short as this (Full duration 25-27hrs)

Lot's and lot's of Chinese as well. A bit like New Mumbai and New Shanghai (the cities previously called Sydney and Melbourne)

Its coming here soon as well.

    • I'm currently in London - reading the news is depressing. The UK government is determined to turn this country into some kind of socialist police state - with different laws and standards for different races.

lol, that is why it is on sale.

if you have friends or family there, then go.

Agreed, as a tourist, i would go a different time. i recommend going during Spring around April-May or Autumn around September-October.

        • I'm currently in London - the weather is greatly

      • I thought that was Adelaide water from the Murray.

Great deal but I would not recommend that time of year.

Positives: From London you can fly anywhere else in Europe cheaply. February is the least popular month to visit London.

    Negatives: Everything else

    • That's about the best you can say of London, good connections to everywhere else.

But you get smashed on taxes as soon as you touch LHR, which is an anus of an airport, up there with CDG for shitness.

        • Just use the Tube

        • Who would take a taxi in London? Not an OzBargainer, that’s for sure

        • Airports taxes guys 🤦🏼

        • We recently flew into Manchester - which most definitely beats LHR and CDG in the shitness stakes

Greatest city in the world… Regardless of the seasons.

    • I'm in London right now - Australia is expensive but the UK, and especially London, is next level.

      • I did a few searches, and most where at least 2
which date to get an example of only 1 stop?
