      What's Meross support like?

      I've just recently had an issue with an Ubiquiti AP I bought from a third-party seller on Amazon (just under a year ago). Amazon told me to return it to them and gave me a full refund… It's a pretty high bar they've set…

    I've been using a ZY HPS01 5.8g presence sensor from Ali Express for like $9 that was fully Home assistant integrated (local Tuya) and has worked really well so far. It's range is 6m , should suit most indoor applications.

    Is it worth spending the extra money on one of these ?.

      I found that sometimes tuya sensors give false negatives (ie would show absence when still presence in the room) have to increase detection time (>60sec) which means automation would remain longer when you leave the room. with these meross i set it to minimum 15s and still works fine.

    Just recently got few LD2410 and LD2450 Presence sensors. The 2450 does 3 people same time. Can use the app but currently implementing them into HA. Was looking into aquara one before but since down the rabbit hole got stuck into HA and esp32 with few different sensors.

      Yep, I have a few ESP32 presence sensor builds which work great.

      You can get them really tiny with the C3 super mini too

        Agree, got a few c3 minis. Just hard which yaml config to use. Got some HACS addon that at least added the 2450. The 2410 worked using an integration but 2450 bit trickier. Also just started with HA few months ago.

    Hold off if you can.

    Meross states they are planing to release new sensor models in Q4, which are simply upgraded versions of current models.

    If you are using Alexa, the presence sensor isn't available via Matter, and the lux sensor doesn't work

      Interesting - I recently sold all my Alexa gear and moving to Apple Home, but interesting to hear. My plan was to start fresh with Matter, sounds like there are still kinks to work out.

      Wow, looks good! Having said that, I am sick of replacing batteries. I know it says "2-year battery" (which to be honest is really good), but I don't believe that it'll last that long.
