Up to 70% off at Rebel Sport Auburn Clearance Store [NSW]

280

This place is always relatively cheap, but just today I was looking for cricket pads for my little brother, and they put up 70% off signs for the junior pads (put the signs up as I was there). Ended up getting a pair for only $13.50.
You'd expect they would have just all oversized unwanted stuff, but they surprisingly had a good range.

I mainly looked at the cricket stuff, but noted down other things around the store :
40% - Gloves (Cheapest with discount = $18)[ALL JUNIOR NO SENIOR + NO left handed from what I saw)
70% - Junior cricket pads (Cheapest = $45 minus 70% which is $13.50)
40% - Senior cricket pads (Not a large amount in comparison to junior pads)
40% - Cricket bats (Many junior bats, about 5x senior)

50% - Squash racquets (Heaps of racquets, but I didn't look into them)
50% - Tennis racquets (Heaps of racquets, but I didn't look into them)

30% - Golf accessories
50% - Golf shoes

70% - Futsal shoes (no studs/spikes)[Quite a lot on display with good range of sizes]
70% - Football boots (studs/spikes) [Couple tables worth of boots in most sizes]
70% - All other shoes (Whole lot of shoes, in a good range of sizes)
30% - Clothing

Clearance Rebel Sport Auburn - Somewhere on Parramatta Road near Costco.
Only at the Auburn store as far as I can tell, as it is the clearance store. Went to the Bankstown store, no such sales there.
No idea how long this lasts for.

Make sure you check out the Nike and Adidas outlets nearby as well.

  • nice, i need some things. Maybe i can buy my things here.

  • I remember not too long ago when it was $10 or under for everything in the store. Wish I knew what skins were back then.

  • Anyone seen any ping pong tables on sale?

  • If someone does go, would you mind checking the prices of Nike Frees for me?

    It would be greatly appreciated.

    • Most likely 70% off the retail price listed on Rebel's website. 70% off applied to the retail price tag, instead of the orange 'clearance' price tag. Not sure if the retail price tag is already reduced from normal price.

    • Not sure if they sell Nike Frees here, I've never seen them. I bought some last Thursday at the Nike Factory 40% off clearance, and only cos I was lucky enough to find a pair in my size, they were $120 so cheaper to start with than Rebel, Foot Locker etc, so ended up being $72.

  • Are there any such Rebel stores in Vic?
I am looking to buy a Kookabura junior cricket bat to give as a present. My niece want one made out from English Willow. Where can I find this and at what sort of price range? Any idea ?

By googling "Rebel Sport Clearance", unfortunately Auburn NSW was the only one to come up. Which is unfortunate, as you could've saved 40% off retail!

English Willow bats tend to start at size 5 and 6 and onwards. Below are average RETAIL price points, at stores such as Rebel and other sports/cricket stores :

      Entry level junior - $80-$100
Mid range junior - In between price range
      High end junior - $160-$200+

My junior bats size 6 and harrow were around $160-$180 at Kingsgrove sports, and prices are still the same from back then.

Anyway, its nearing the end of the cricket season, and many stores including Rebel usually reduce there prices to get rid of the current seasons stock, to get new stuff for next season. Furthermore, you can buy online or on eBay, but you don't get to see them in person, but can save quite a bit off retail price.

  • giteau:Thanks for the information. When googling, Docklands rebel store also came up as a clearance store. However that was only mentioned in one external site and therefore it's not reliable info.
I am looking for size 5 bat, so I should be able to find one in English Willow.
I went to Glen Waverley rebel one day and realised that they don't mention whether it's English or Kashmir Willow in the tags on the isle. So it's difficult to find what material they use unless you talk to someone who knows about the particular brand and model very well.

Woops forgot to choose the reply option.

Hmm yeh, better to ask someone or somehow make sure it's English willow. However Kashmir willow bats tend to be like $80 max. So usually anything over that is English willow, although that's not a guarantee.

I googled Glen Waverley, and fortunately Greg Chappell Cricket Centre is only a couple of minutes away. This is a dedicated cricket centre with cricket experts, which you can't go wrong with. Although most likely there will no no sales on bats, and will probably be at retail price.

Regardless there isn't a huge amount of money you can save on junior bats, in comparison to senior bats, as the junior ones are at a relatively low price range. So you might as well just go to a proper cricket store.

    • Thanks for the information. As I remember once I saw half price sale from AMart catalogue. I think it had Kashmir Willow junior bats for around $50-70. However English Willow ones are dearer above $200 even for juniors. When I promised to buy the bat the little fella wants I thought I would buy one of those cheap ones. The guy is not playing any serious cricket yet. Hope he learns the difference of the bats from his school mates and he only wants to have English Willow one. Bad for me :(
Will keep looking for a sale as it closes to the end of cricket season.

  • Do they have cricket balls on sale too?

    • +1

There were cricket balls for sale, with I think $9 price stickers on them. Although unfortunately I can't recall if they were proper cricket balls, or some sort of variation. Most likely a lower end ball intended for training, such as the Kooka Practice. Although I may be wrong, sorry.
