  • Stylish phone for a great price.

  • Is it locked to a network etc?

    • I think it is locked to telstra.

      • its actually crazy john's

  • Hi there,

Is this Motorola V8 or Motorola V9?
Please confirm the model number as I can only see Motorola V8 being sold by Kmart in a Crazy John's Prepaid bundle for $199 (Down from $299 to $199)

    • v8? i bought one of these a while ago and it was a v9?

  • So are you certain that the model is Motorola V9 locked to Telstra?
So only Kmart and Big W selling them right?

    • -1

Im 'preety' sure it is locked to telstra…must pay $80 to unlock or by $80 credit.

And they sell at Kmart, BigW, DSE, JB, all phone stores and so on.

      • its with crazy john not telstra.

  • v8 has straight cut key, v9 has curved down cut key to accommodate an extra (world) button under the navigation key. I suppose v9 is 3G enabled where as v8 is not. I could be wrong :P, either way, if it is offered under popular networks like voda, optus, telstra, it is a quite a good deal.

  • I have just rang Kmart and they told me that they don't sell Motorola V9, however they do sell Motorola V8 for $199. Which store did you get it from?

  • I guess it is the v8

    The difference's
    V9 (3G HSDPA), V9m (EVDO CDMA) and V8 (GSM)

  • do they all look the same?

Called 2 of my local BigW stores who didnt have stock and couldnt tell me price either . You don't seem too sure yourself about the details of the product.

Go to crazy johns website and you can pick it up with a free splash of Beckham for $199 - its under their prepaid section. It is the V8 only.

    • Nice deal with the 75ml Beckham fragrance!

  • Unless you really need the 3g features, forget about the V9 - I have one and they have a shocking battery life - I wish I had the (cheaper) V8 now !

  • Ive had the v9 and the v8, v8 (currently) and the only difference is v8 has no memory slot and the v9 does only to 2gb though. Id say at about $200 less the v8 is awesome value, unless you want 3g but ive notice that the v8 is faster.

  • prepaid phones are subsidised by the telco so its cheaper, but locked to their network for 6 months.,

so if you buy from telstra, locked to telstra for 6 months or you have to pay ~120 to unlock it.

  • Are the current generation Motorola phones any good? I've had bad experiences with the older RAZR phones (v3 types) - freezing, crashing, random reboots etc….
