    Ooo sweet! Thanks OP.

Might use this to finally ditch superloop. Just need to figure out how the superloop 30 thing day works when cancelling midway through billing cycle.

    • You might want to check who owns Exetel…

      • lol is it superloop? That probably means another 30 day notice period yuck

        • It is! Policy might be a little different, but your service will be virtually identical, just a different support team.

          • @jasswolf: Oh good to know thanks! My superloop service was bad for first 2 weeks but eventually smoothed out and it’s pre event now.

            • +1

@JAF: If you inform superloop that you want to move to Exetel (because the Exetel One plan is cheaper), ask them nicely to waive the 30 days notice. The reps generally will help you get that waived.

However, just a heads up, you cannot opt out of CGNAT with Exetel One plan and there is no static IPv4 option either.

              • @netsurfer: Yeah, a good point the no opt out of CGNAT and is a deal breaker for some like myself.

  • Exetel now doesn't include VOIP or email.

    • +2

Use third party providers. Then you can churn (and take advantage of these deals) without worrying about losing anything, plus crazytel is usually cheaper than getting VOIP via an ISP.

  • This question always gets asked, but what is a "new" exetel customer?

    • aren't they forcing existing customers who want to upgrade to their One plan to cancel their old plan and sign up as new customers as they cant be upgraded from old plans? If so, do they count as a new customer?

  • Does Exetel allow CGNAT opt-out?

    • +1

      Not for new customers.

      IPv4 CG-NAT.
      IPv6 /56 sticky DHCPv6 PD.
      Static IP is not available.

      • Thanks. Would have been good to get $145 cashback but I really need a static IP or CGNAT opt-out.

  • so if i want to VPN into my home network and i move to EXETEL, this wont work reliably or at all due to CGNAT being enabled (sharing my IP with other users). that sux, must be a way around this, big red flag to try EXECEL

    • Have a look at Tailscale or ZeroTier. Unfortunately, one click VPN setup from router won't work with CGNAT. IPv6 only VPN has issues (most routers don't offer that; Optus mobile has no IPv6 support; some Telstra mobile resellers don't have IPv6 configured to enabled by default).

      CGNAT is a real pain.

Changed from Exetel within 3 months. Multiple drop outs weekly and useless customer service.

  • Can we schedule the activation?

    • No.
