Early Prime Big Deal.

Seems to be a good price for this. I can't find too many mentions of this on ozbargain though. You should be able to combine with cashback to get a cheaper price overall.

For what it’s worth, the RRP is old. The actual RRP is $249.

    So call that ~48% off.

      Ok. I'll change it.

      • Not blaming you, it’s still a very decent deal! Just Amazon being Amazon 😁

        • No worries. Thanks for pointing it out. Maybe should have checked google before I posted.

    • This doorbell is old. 7 years old. $129 is what the overinflated RRP should be. Price should be under $70 considering the age and required subscription.

This doorbell is old. 7 years old.

your comment and bad deal vote are valid.

7 years in tech is forever. probably has super slow and weak range wifi. won't be supported by all the advanced features (alexa) for long because it can't continue to run it.

also by the way responding to your comment below, family member has one (not the deal one) and with no sub it also didn't include notifications. which was basically the very reason why you buy one.

        • FAQ on Ring site says:

Do I need Ring Home to use the video doorbell?
No. You can still use your doorbell or camera to watch over your home and answer the door from anywhere, even without a subscription to Ring Home. Without Ring Home, you’ll still receive real-time notifications when anyone comes to your door, and you can answer the notification to see, hear and speak to visitors in real time right from your mobile device.

          Not true about notifications?

  • Are all the main items on the product page behind a paywall? What is the base functionality without paying for a subscription?

    • Looks like basic motion detection and live viewing only. If you want person detection or playback you need to subscribe Ring Home.

  • Same price at Bunnings and GoodGuys (probably others too). This doorbell came out 7 years ago (Oct 2018). There are better alternatives.

  • The rrp is scam. Overpriced crap

also amazon bought ring, and apparently the old rings before that were absolutely terrible. if 7 years old it's probably one of those old models.
I know someone years ago who had to replace their model 4 times before they gave up. 1st one failed after a few months (water got in they could see it in the lens), 2nd would drop off wifi with exact same setup, 3rd was DOA out of the box, 4th would not get past setup stage. they had enough.

I heard they got better after amazon bought them, then released all new models a year later. but still the sub system is pretty expensive.

  • Wired Video Doorbell Pro Plug-in is also on sale @ $179 $349.00.

    Battery ones on sale too.
