Amazon has these 256 GB UHS II micro SD cards for close to half of what others offer. Please note these do not come with a SD card adaptor though. Using a regular UHS I adaptor does not help you realise the benefits of the extra channels. Ths cheapest are from Aliexpress for ~$5 AUD

  • Price in title!

Don't worry anyone, it's still 80 bucks, nothing to see here

  • Note the Lexar today is not the Lexar of 2010s at the boom of digital cameras when it was a brand owned by Micron.

  • Any endurance deals about? The SD card in my CCTV camera just died and I am getting tired of churning through standard cards with it.

express sd wi mario on it $50 for 256gb from target if y sign ip to th newsletter

not sure they make endurance claims but meant to be ssd class

      • You sir are a natural born hunter!

        • they're sandisk

i'm willing to bet they have garbage collection and'd probly outlive an oldschool endurance sd

          • @0jay: Yet SanDisk would remind you its not an endurance SSD and isn't rated for endurance cycles

            • @parad0x: y comparing it to a micro sd or an ssd?

as an ssd it’s doubtless pretty ordinary

as an sd it’s stupid fast and no surprise they’re not making endurance claims (especially given th target market)

    • How many standard cards have you gone through out of interest and over what timeframes. I was wondering what using standard cards would actually be like in real world practice. I’ve used max endurance from the get go.

I have 2 of the same Genbolt cameras around the house and both have gone through about 3 SD cards each over the last 2 or so years. Funnily enough, the TP Link Tapo cameras I also have set up have never once had their SD cards stop working yet over the same time period, so maybe better quality cameras handle things better than others?

        • Suspect heat would be a key factor here

          • @parad0x: It is very cold most the year where I live, so I couldn't imagine that would be much of an issue. Only one of the Genbolt cameras are exposed to direct weather too, the other is underneath a roof out the back.

      • If you can afford Max, stick with it. It you're looking for w cheaper option go for High.

  • I reckon anyone considering buying should wait for prime day. Last deal was around 47 aud.

  • +2

I paid $47.64 for this same card (also from Amazon) back in July

It is quite fast tho (using a UHS-II reader) - I got 250+ MB/s Read speed and 195+ MB/s Write speed (with both Blackmagic Disk Speed Test and Amorphous Disk Mark)
    (with a UHS-I or a UHS-I DDR200 reader it's 90MB/s read and write)

    • Nice. I've been waiting patiently for close to 2 months for a cheap 128 or 256gb card

  • Not ATL but currently on sale for $56.03 (and the 128GB version for 29.64 https://www.amazon.com.au/Lexar-microSDXC-Gold-UHS-II-128GB/… )
