Highly rate this rice cooker. Paid full price and would pay it again. Rice is so fluffy

I have the fuzzy logic Panasonic cooker. Am i going to see any difference with this?

    • nah japanese (panasonic/national) cooker is the one to get.

      • If you do Japanese, Tiger is the one to get. I had a Panasonic 10-cup, it was alright. For a 6 cup cooker, I’ll take this Cuckoo on any day (paid $120 for this exact model). Now they have a new version, so now I guess it is on sale.

Disclaimer: this is for rice cooking, not other shenanigan functionality.

Korean rice cookers are the best

Our first rice cooker and I love it. Except the display is SO hard to read for my eyes (old man issue) the amber and black one.

  • Is it any better than instant pot?

    • This does one thing good - cook rice. Pressure cooking with this will not give you a good time.

So worth it, paid almost double at Bing Lee for the pink model and still going strong after several years.

Quick (had a turbo mode) and very forgiving for different amounts of water.

    • How quick?

    Excellent price!

I love this rice cooker so much I don't care people call me a cuck-OO!

    Price is Cuckoo

  • Is it store specific?

    • I would love to know this as well.

Its not coming up on the Costco website.

I only recently bought a membership and wondering; will they accept this as a price match at my local Costco?

    • None at my local. Not even a display.

    • Likely a clearance item, no longer online, once it's gone its gone. Spreading the love on ozb so other costco shoppers may relay what they see in their local store.

    • They tend to be. There might be something similar at other stores but I don’t think the end of line discounts are connected.

Worth flying up from Hobart for one? Looking for a rice cooker for a birthday gift 😅

  • Thanks OP. Got one for me and one for the tenants 🫡

  • some of these don't cook under 'pressure'

Is this a normal one or a pressure one?

    • +1

A lot of people don't cook under pressure.

    • Normal

  • Don't miss the chance….this is super good deal!

PSA. This rice cooker has a 2 cup minimum.

    • I've cooked 1cup (the included measuring cup) of rice with no issues.

      • Interesting. How much water did you put in? The water scale on the side of the bowl begins at 2, and the scale is not linear.

        • I use basmati rice with 1:1.25 ratio

Damn was waiting for this one to go on sale again, anyone know if WA stores have this cooker?

  • +1

I use this cooker and love it

  • I have this for a few months. We used it 5 times a week. Basmati rice (even aldi and Coles brand) cooks perfectly with 1:1.25 rice:water ratio.
Wish I had bought it years ago.

  • Great rice cooker with compact size, highly recommended! If you're still using Kmart generic rice cooker, upgrade now!
