First post! Surprised this hasn’t been posted already - pretty sure this is an ATL (or close to it).

These are the famous open-backs, and yes, I reckon they live up to the hype. You can either spend hours confusing yourself by watching the 800 hours of HD6XX reviews on YouTube… or just grab a pair while the deal’s on and find out for yourself.

  There is no need to spend hours confusing yourself with HD 6XX reviews because the HD 6XX is based on HD 650, not HD 600.

    Good point — I realised after posting that “6XX” might be taken literally. What I meant was “confuse yourself comparing all of the 600-series models.”

    I’ve been down that rabbit hole myself - thankfully, the $299 price on the HD 600s made the decision for me. By most accounts they all sound very similar, with only small differences in the treble.

  600's vs 660s2 anyone?

    Spoiler: HD600s are rated A Tier, HD660s2 C Tier. Given the 600s are $284 here and (admittedly without checking other sources) the 660s2 are $599, the 600s seem like a no-brainer.

    Depends on the type of music you're into.

    600s are great for vocals.
    660S2 are better for things like Metal, modern music.

    Buy both and return the one you don't like.

      seems like a very niche genre tbh. out of all music, how much is just vocals, or just guitar and vocals. probably like 10%.

      most music has a lot more, so 660S2 sounds like the better buy because compatible with all music.

          @maverickjohn: ok sure my intention was not to offend you. just my honest experience, out of hundreds of songs I can only remember one which was vocal only, and I didn't stick around long enough to know if that was for the entire song.

          well for sure whoever needs to analyse voices like in that foreign "airplane crash black box movie" would appreciate the HD600's. they were using sennheiser actually in the movie, just the wireless bluetooth model.

          it was a french belgian movie called "Black box". makes sense. 😂

  Note these are high impedance, they will sound best out an amp of some sort.
