Moral Direction Help (Free Food, but May Make Staff Too Busy)

Long story short, my local food place (it's a chain) is doing free food items). I was considering posting as a deal but I worried it might overload the staff working. Any thoughts what is the right way to go about it?

Ask the store (persons) if it's okay to share the giveaway on social media?

Chances are they already have done a FB or IG post somewhere.

    • Thanks. I had a look, they did post on Facebook (this is a chain/franchise restaurant fast food) but the post has only got two likes lol, and the actual promotion seems to be without hoops on the store but in the post they suggest there are hoops for the free food)

post has only got two likes lol

If they want to go viral, post a good deal here…

    • Also charities/homeless …
If business really wanted to make a change (or go viral) - that would be the way.

By sounds of it … Small things that store can't sell at end of business day (short shelf life).

  • It will kill the deal for you if you do

Morality should not be a concern in the endless and unrelenting pursuit of bargains

    • Methbargain.

    Any free Toilet Paper?

Install a bidet sprayer, you will use a lot less toilet paper

well what kind of item is it?

if its only like a free side or whatever and is a genuine offer, i think just post it.

if its a price error/ hack / loophole then maybe not?

Consider that 'losing' out on say a $5 side, might end up generating extra income when getting more mains or extra drink etc - or generating new leads /exposing customer to your offerings.

  • Have you ever tried a free burrito from Guzman Y Gomez? It has been available all year long since long time ago. Not all stores are very busy. The founder has become very rich after the company went public. So many Guzman Y Gomez stores in this country. Free food is one of marketing strategies to get more people to try the food or increase sales together with other products. It's the same with free product after launch or during certain promotions.

  • Post it. If they didn't want people getting the free item they wouldn't be offering it.

They've likely listed as free or promotional to get traffic through the door.

want my opinion, some big fella will probably come round and take it all. that's how it is.

    • Def. happens at the church food banks.
The amount of "freeloaders" with 5k gold chains and 50k SUV's doing it tough thanks to the cost-of-living crisis has ballooned over the past few years.

it's very common. especially if the person thinks it's some secret not many knows about like OP's post. they will just take it all.

  • I guess I would ask why they are offering free food items and to whom are they wanting their offer to target?

Is it intended only for say, homeless people?

Is it meant to be a free for all?

Are there any applicable terms, conditions or limitations that apply of which you are aware?

How much free stuff do they actually have? Eg: just stuff left over at end of day, or keen to provide 1000 freshly prepared cups of soup to serve everyone who asks?
