I am currently using an iPhone 8 Plus that is dying in my hands. It's battery (which I can't replace as the back glass is completely shattered) barely lasts 2 hours and that is just browsing social media. Is it delusional for me to think that I could get an iPhone 15 or 16e for 750-800? (within the next few months) don't care if it is refurbished as long as it has a new battery. Or should I just buy a pixel 9A? I don't care about AI, I don't care about the camera, I just want a phone I can use for the next 5 years.

iPhone 8 battery comes out the front so easy to replace, but prob not worth it anyway

No, I just wanted to leave the possibility of getting an iPhone open (doubt I could get one for lower than 750).

I personally don't recommend it but iPhones below $750 exist, they're just old and since you plan to keep yours for 5+ years, I would suggest increasing your budget and locking in a newer one.

Honestly, if you’re happy with your current phone then just buy a replacement battery from eBay for $25.
Doesn’t matter about the back (you could always buy a replacement back from Aliexpress and do a full transplant)
