Really hope they drop the base game to the 50s range

Kmart had the base game for $49 in November, and Amazon for $49 in December, and Kmart got down to $34 in (some stores) in December, so you may get lucky!

      • I'm not sure if we'll see it back, at least at Kmart. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to buy a whole heap of it, sell some then clear the rest, just to do it all over again. It would make more sense to bring in something else like Quacks and sell that for a little bit then try something else. I guess if they were going to do it for any board game I guess you'd do it with Wingspan, given how popular and highly rated it is.

EBGames seem to discount Wingspan heavily from time to time. If you have some gift cards you can probably get pretty cheap that way. Next sale probably won't be until Black Friday though.

  • This is a good expansion.

  • I have base and this expansion but yet to play it…

    • I’m also yet to play the expansion even though I’ve had it for ages. Base game is super though

Both of you need to get on it! Adding nectar removes useless turns when you're just fishing for the right resources making the game overall more enjoyable. Also all the birds are familiar unlike NA birds.

        • It's definately a controversal expansion as the nectar makes full boards easy and can get 150+ high scores whereas others purposely play without the nectar to make the game harder.

          • @Jazza2400: ??? We must be playing wrong. Never had 150+ scores, and it's slowed down a bit by the individual squares earning less than in the standard game.

            • @bcarp: There's a end of round bonus tile called "no bonus" so you keep your first round cube, you essentially get 3 extra turns for the rest of the game which helps.

I don't remember the last time I got 150+ but playing 2 player the other night I did hit 140 but I had a fair few bonus cards I hit.

              • @Jazza2400: Oh we’ve been playing that end round goal wrong. You are correct, I’ve just checked the rules. We’ve just been discarding a cube and not scoring points for it whenever we see that come up.
