  • Awesome price!

  • Price matching eufy, who have it for $1200 - 42% (=$696) coupon on https://www.eufy.com/au/products/eufy-security-s220-solocam-…

is this a decent stater set? Im so confused with all the models.

    • +2

It comes with 4 cameras and homebase 3(which acts as storage) so yeah fairly decent kit if you'd like to go wireless cameras, they don't record 24/7 though, will only trigger with motion and also, you'd need to mount them somewhere, so they get some sunlight to charge.

      • thanks for this - great summary.

Can I check them whenever I want though? Recording just starts when movement is sensed?

        • +2

You can check them on your phone app whenever you want yes, unless it's out of storage, then it wipes the oldest footage to save new footage, you can expand storage by installing 2.5 hdd in homebase 3 and yes recording only starts when it senses movement.

  • Good price on these too:

eufy Security Smart Lock C210 $149 ($249 elsewhere)
    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0DHZ8HRMN/

eufy Security Smart Lock C220, Fingerprint $189 ($349 elsewhere)
    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0FQMKDRVN/

edit: same price for these smart locks at GoodBuyz but can use coupon there

    • I wish they would have another special/discount of the e22 lights.

  • and Bunnings for the same price

  • Nice deal with the HB3.
Do they ever discount the S100 lights? Most of the standard cameras get deep discounts periodically ….

    • Looks like there might not be much competition for Eufy for S100, I was originally eyeing reolink solar cameras which were on sale too, but not having any inbuilt storage kinda put me off, so I am assuming Eufy discounted these to compete with Reolink and Ring maybe ?

Some feedback on eufy. I had an someone try and break in a few days ago in the early hours of the night. I have the eufy 2c and have upgraded my homebase and process of setting them up continuously. My cameras alarmed letting me know and the intruder ran. Definitely worth it for the alarm setting.

    • Interested to know more about this. I've had S3 Pros x 4 for around a month now. Too scared to have the alarm setting on by default as I don't want to be that annoying neighbour that has all the false alarms. Assume there are choices to make, any chance of big cat just passing through would have your alarms going off at 3 a.m.? When I think about it I guess the reason I'm not onto it more is because we have double Gates that we lock with a huge padlock and chain. Getting onto this property would take tremendous effort from the street. Plenty of people would be young and fit enough to do it but I sometimes feel like they're put off by the fact that there's a double story house next door that looks over our house, and the fact that if you were to scale our gate, you kind of be stuck in here and it would be hard to make a quick getaway.

      • I felt being in a two story and cul de sac that it was safe but they jumped fences from another cul de sac into a property nearby before brazenly walked up my property to enter the gate. Had I had streaming cameras I wouldn't have known. You can set the sensitivity and to detect human. When I first got them it use to detect trees but they are much better. I have a mode I set called sleep which turns all alarms on. I've had the schedule fail in the past. Only one neighbour heard the camera. I turned it off to call the police as the preview only showed me entering. In the past cats have set it off but not now no. I have it set to human. I'm not sure who got the bigger fright between the intruder and I.

  • Single camera $138 if you already have a homebase(3).

  • Thanks for reminding me to match with SCA to use soon expiring credit!
They took forever on the chat though, ugh.

    • No problems, took me fair bit of time too, but I kept working and left the chat in background :)

  • I've heard some average reviews on the solar cams not charging enough?? I have the 2C cams and was going to upgrade until I saw the reviews on the solar feature

    • Will have to see, I assume if it's not getting direct sunlight at an angle it needs it may struggle to charge, but fir this sort of price I would expect it to work well.

    • We've got 2 x Eufy S120 Solar Cam with floodlight and they work great all night recording and lighting and they face east and west so never really get a full day of sun. They are slightly larger than these cams through so would assume the solar panel area is slightly larger too, but the floodlight would draw more power.

    • Likewise and is why I’ve put off buying them but for this price I might bite tbh. I’ve got 2 door locks with cams on them and r amazing. I did read you can do other cameras that usually require subscription services but you can do ur own network hub bypass so u don’t need to pay but some technically skills are required ><

  • What’s the benefit of the homebase? Can motion alerts be accessed through the eufy app?

    • It saved the data locally rather than paying for cloud storage.

  • Any feedback or thoughts on Swann 4K Pan & Tilt Security Camera Solar with Solar Panel?

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/swann-4k-pan-tilt-securit…

  • Does this have a battery that can be charged plugged in? I have a few spots that won't get much sunlight

    • Yeah, can be charged with USB C

  • +3

You can buy this from The Good Guys for $657.23 after discounts => that’s $699 minus $10 via the Price Beat button and a further 5% ($31.77) cashback from TopCashback. Awesome deal !!!

    • +1

Cashback is ineligible on any portion of the transaction paid with gift cards, store credits, 90-day StoreCash, Price Beat discounts, delivery charges, and taxes.

  • +1

I nearly went down this route but ended up with the 2 pack and HB3. Used the extra cash towards the S340 that covers the whole front yard on its own. Built in spotlight, siren, dual camera that follow you around, full coloir at night. Downside of the s220 cameras is that they don't like being connected to mesh systems so unless your HB3 is close you'll have connection issues.

    • I was really eyeing the Reolink floodliight cam which has 180 FOV and I hope it covers the range, otherwise it'll be waste of money for me getting this.

  • Thanks OP for the post. It required two goes to get the price-beat on the SCA chat (they denied the Bunnings link outright - it wasn't available in store AND delivered?, got it across the line with Amazon link). They also tried to not allow the Amazon link, as they stated the HB3 wasn't included. I had to remind them that the UPC number for the Amazon listing was the same as that of JB Hifi, which had in the title "… and Homebase 3". Finally, after 55 minutes on the chat (30 minutes was waiting in the queue), they said "We will price beat this item for you this one time".

Final price on invoice: -$685.97 delivered for the S220 4-pack with HB3.
Paid with ShopBack x SCA Gift Cards @ 3% CB (+$20.57)
Credited $5 per $100 spend for SCA Club Members (+$30)
    Net cost: $645.40

Please let me know if I need to hand in my OzBargain badge - I think I did okay.

    • SCA can be shits…

  • is eufy good with google home now?

like can i add the cameras
view them through the home app

can i arm/disarm them with routines?

  • so I was curious about the new models. looked up Solocam vs Eufycam.

apparently Solocam's can run without a base station. you better have WiFi with super great range though.

Solocam can benefit from Base station. because you can add like 1TB storage into the base station, and the Solocams themselves inside only have 8GB each, which isn't much for 4K video. I learned from comments in a dashcam deal I posted that 64GB will only hold about 1 hour (google says 1:15) of 4K video. so 8GB will hold like only 10 mins?

weird situation where you will only need the last 10 mins of clips on any camera. but I guess the Solocam exists.

    • Onboard storage is not meant for continuous recording. Also there's a few variables that determine file sizes between a dashcam and a security camera.
