  • Stream from a 9" retina display iPad to a 7" LCD screen?

    • +2

What has a 9" retina display?

But no. Most people would stream from their 4 inch iphones/ipods

    • +1

if your elite enough to be in this situation, then you should be able to afford 2 retina ipads and close this deal window

480x234 resolution screen. I.e. significantly lower than even standard definition…

    "IN-CAR ENTERTAINMENT UNDER $100!"

    But it isn't… is it? It's $108…

  • US$80 on Amazon. Mounting is a pretty simple strap around the headrest - probably depends on your car whether it would suit (doesn't suit me). Does appear to require Apple (I was hoping for something that works with Android).

Amazon is overseas. You would pay more for postage to sent it here in Aus. Pay an overseas transactions fee and the fact should anything happen to it - postage is a lot more to return.
Yer I would grab one myself if they were more Andriod friendly

      • +7

I would argue dealing internationally with Amazon would be better than dealing with cotd. Also Amazon would probably get it here quicker…

        • heh I tend to agree. I think the costs of postage would be more for amazon but I had some good and bad experiences with COTD postage time.

          $95.91 delivered from Amazon.

        • +1

        • Yep. When I had an issue with an Amazon.com product they shipped me a new one straight away and paid for the postage on the return.

  • Tiny screens.

  • Not compatible with iPhone 5.

    • I think its not compatible with iphone 5 lightening jack. A converter should be ok wont it?

  • I got refurb one from eBay. Onix brand. For $55 . Very similar specs. Don't concern yourself
With "low res". It's a 7" DVD player for kids in the car. Your not Gonna watch a blu ray with your sound system attached.

Not the cheapest, save 12.99 and buy it from Amazon.

Its not the same buying it overseas. Find Australian one cheaper.

You have not included overseas transactions charge in your calculations.

      • +4

You have not included overseas transactions charge in your calculations.

Because I didn't buy it, Amazon is more reliable than COTD in my opinion.

        • -1

But you tried to compare the price even quoting a difference and not including other costs that you will occur when purchasing overseas..

In either case you should read voting guidelines

          http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:voting_guidelines

Likewise comparing a price to a price from an overseas location, is good to point out, BUT not appropriate for a negative vote.

        • +1

28 degrees Mastercard has no charges for overseas transactions

      • What overseas transaction charge? I believe it is optional and shouldn't be included.

  • +3

    Get over it Cardz

  • +1

This is normal price, you're always going to cop criticism when you post COTD "deals" here, I don't know why anyone bothers

  • Does this only stream vids from the IOS video player? Can it stream from AVPlayerHD?

  • I saw some 9" ones advertised a couple of weeks back for around $109… That was much better value…

  • -3

Of -course- it -SEEMS- cheap… until you factor-in the apparently necessary iPhone/iPod!

This is not a deal… more an ad for Apple!

    • +1

I have an Android phone, and I find this ridiculous. So any 'accessory' is not a deal, because it requires the base item first?
So if I see a $1500 surround sound unit at JB Hi Fi for $200, it wouldn't be a deal because you need a TV to make proper use of it? If I see a laptop case for 99% off, it's not a deal because I have to factor in the cost of the laptop? I really don't understand your logic.

And how is this an ad for Apple? Apple likely had absolutely nothing to do with this product, and wouldn't be affiliated with the manufacturer or the seller.
