tcb deal requires minimum 90 days to get cashback. ecoonext one 45 days

90 days of maintaining service, or hold for the same 45 days. Just it gets paid 45 days later?

90 days of maintaining service. always read the fine print, never assume anything

The Free 3 Plan
OVO pay 3% interest on credit balances (after all monthly charges are considered). This is prorated for the number of days since your last bill.
You will be paying for the energy, in advance every month, based on the energy we estimate you will consume in accordance with applicable energy laws, pursuant to a bill smoothing arrangement as set out in our Market Retail Contract Terms and ConditionsI understand that I will be paying for the energy, in advance every month, based on the energy they estimate I will consume in accordance with applicable energy laws, pursuant to a bill smoothing arrangement detailed in their Market Contract T&Cs.
Do I need to be wary of this?

Yikes just read this. Oh well, looks like I'll be paying for an overestimate and get a refund in 45 days lol

I have used Econnex before to get electricity deals.
Am I still eligible?
Yes

If I swich after the minimum days but before I get my gift card, will I still get my gift card?

Yes

Is this link still working? As unable to proceed after selecting gas/elec. Refreshing the page results in 404

Same, the link doesn't work for me either! :(

I never neg deals, but wanna let you all know the fine print about these guys before you go ahead taking a deal directly from them.
1. They only provide the gift card after 120 days - which is a really long time compared to if you get a cashback deal via Shopback, etc.
2. Their support is really bad, they don't answer emails until you message the rep here on ozbargain.
3. Gift cards must be activated within 30 days and expire within 90 after activation (if you ever get it!)
4. For the previous deal they had in June, I got an SMS from Karta saying the card was sent, but no comms from them and no emails from Karta. I raised this with them and they sent me an email to say basically nothing to do with them and case closed. So if your email goes 'missing' or is never sent, they don't care, even though you've waited 120 days.Anyway, stick with cashback on their offers and don't go directly with them, there's no transparency and no support. Others might have had good experiences, but if you're unlucky like me, you will lose out. For me, I'm never taking the risk again.

I have never had an issue. Also, you need to stay with the new provider for 120 days with ShopBack.

For engie perk plan including the sign up credit and nrma membership, any tips for the existing nrma member?

Why choose that one if an NRMA member? Only existing NRMA members get the $250 for signing up to one of the other options with that bonus mentioned.

For some reasons only the perk plan come with $150 credit in qld, the rest plan dont have any sign up credit.

NRMA does not operate in Qld

@chrisharry53: I'm in QLD and have car insurance with NRMA, for a car registered and used in QLD, so I think that makes me a member.

Note - I have a lite membership with NRMA. I called and had my profile deleted. I then rejoined with my email and mobile number as I was not offered the 3 months free roadside as I had an account. I will cancel once I have used up the $250 credit from Engie as I have roadside with 247 Roadservices. If I need assistance I will have the option of who to use in the meantime.

I've read through the T&C's and don't see anything about being a previous Econnex/EnergyCompare customer like Shopback/CR had for their energy/gas/NBN signups. There's nothing about moving or being a new customer (in general). The only bullet point in the T&C that maybe could be an issue is "Internet Offer available only in NBN or Opticom available areas within Australia. This offer is available to new customers. " It's very vague, and given the bullet point starts out about "Internet offer", one would assume the new customer thing only refers to that.

Looks like not all plans are available. I want to move from OVO's EV plan to AGL's EV plan, but it doesn't come up.

ECONNEX does not offer all power deals. What you see is what you get.

Switch, and then change plans once you've switched

Wow, literally no sign up credit bonus with all the providers.
The only one was momentum with 50 bucks.

$200 gift card not enough?

Retailer offers depend on your location.
For me, Engie Perk Plus has $150 electricity bill credit.
Others have $250 electricity bill credit.

Be wary and check the details they send back to you. I just signed up for Alinta Energy, carefully choosing a "single rate" plan, and then Alinta Energy told me I am signed up to a time-of-use plan that costs way more than the plan I selected.
Cancelling now.

Update: I sent eConnex an email at 2:15pm today (Saturday), they rang me 35 minutes later to explain that according to the NMI database, my meter is a smart meter (it is), so I will automatically receive a TOU plan.
I asked how to move to a single-rate+CL1 plan, they said I can contact my electricity DISTRIBUTOR (Energex for my area) and ask them to change my listing on the NMI, but reading here says it won't be allowed. Once you have a smart meter, you'll only ever be able to choose TOU plans.
The eConnex person suggested I may be able to contact an electricity retailer directly and ask for a single-rate+CL1 plan, has anyone here tried that, and were you successful?
I've been on a single-rate+CL1 plan for over a decade, and had a smart meter forced on me a year or two ago, but my plan didn't change when that happened.

Some electricity retailers ONLY offer a "single rate" plan. Powershop used to. Was on single-rate+CL1 plan with them many times. Much easier (for me).
But other retailers automatically apply TOU rates if you have a smart meter.
Best to know what code applies to your meter, to determine the different rates found in link View Rates for each retailer.
After years of successfully using Econnex Deals - I still don't know the code. Also am with Energex.
Was told by retailer I might be able to get a a "single rate" plan if the electricity DISTRIBUTOR is willing to change what is assigned on the NMI database - for a fee💰
Thanks, I'll start checking out the other retailers on eConnex, to see if any can do single-rate+CL1 for me. Hopefully I can get the Mastercard from this deal.

@INFIDEL: Looking up rates on energymadeeasy.gov.au, at the bottom of each listing they say what sort of meter is required to access that plan. For example, Sumo says "Meter needed to access this plan: All meter types", while Alinta says "Meter needed to access this plan: Basic Meter". I don't have a "basic meter", hence why I can't get the Alinta single-rate+CL1 plans.
It looks like there are quite a few options available to me, now to see if the available options match up with what eConnex offers.
Edit: I have "Single-Rate Plans" selected at the top of the listings.

@Russ: "Single-Rate Plans" selected at the top of the listings - only gives rates for that supply type.
Which won't apply in your or my case!
@INFIDEL: If I click through the Sumo Energy plan, there's a tab saying "Eligibility", and it says "You meet our requirements".
There's also a tab saying "network tariffs" which says
This plan is only available if you are on one of the following network tariffs.
NTC8400
NTC9000Neither of those tabs come up for the Alinta plan.
I'm hopeful, I'll ring Sumo Energy tomorrow to confirm

@Russ: Sorry, I was referring to Single-Rate Plans" selected at the top of the listings in Econnex Offers.
energymadeeasy.gov.au may not know your meter type to know which plans you qualify for.

@INFIDEL: Damn, my hopes have been dashed. I went to the Sumo Energy website and entered my address, and it's only offering me TOU plans.
I'll still ring to confirm.

@Russ: Once you install a smart meter, few retailers offer the simpler "Single-Rate Plans". Just TOU.

@INFIDEL: Rang Alinta this morning, they said they can offer me a single-rate+CL1 plan, their standing rate, even though I have a smart meter. Unsurprisingly, it'll be more costly than what I'm paying with my old supplier, so I was handed to the "cancellation team" who then tried to give me a retention plan with TOU. As they were reading out the retention plan prices, I countered with the single-rate my old provider was giving me and the daily charge, and they were able to find a different retention plan with better prices, but still TOU, still more expensive overall than my old provider. I declined, and cancelled, and they sent me a cancellation email (which I requested).
During this process, just after I explained that I thought I was signing up to a single-rate+CL1 plan and they had given me a TOU pan, I asked which tariff the NMI database had for my address, and they looked it up and told me - 6970 (TOU) for the main supply and 9050 for the CL1.
Also rang SUMO Energy. After I told them I have a smart meter, they said they can only offer TOU plans because of the smart meter. So it's like you said, some providers can offer a single-rate+CL1 plan, but most won't.
Thanks!

@Russ: You went to a lot of effort!
I'm still deciding on retailer…Been with Alinta twice - only on TOU.
Still depends on what offers are available in this Econnex Deal. Only some plans are offered here - to get a MC!
As I repeatedly switch every 45-60 days, then switch again, MC pays for all of my low electricity usage each time. Haven't had to pay out for electricity in years. Even with current aircon use. (No gas or solar.)
So choice of retailer doesn't matter much if regularly churning. Slightly higher kWh rates don't matter much for 45+ days. Just choose the lowest with best benefits.
Good if also a Bill Credit offer. But none available to me. Already used them up.

@INFIDEL: As I'm currently on a single-rate+CL1 plan that's not terrible, if I change to a TOU plan, I'll never be able to get back to a plan as good as the one I've been on for the last decade. If I decided to "surf" from provider to provider, to make it worthwhile I'd have to get an eConnex gift card several times a year. That's more effort than I'm willing to expend, there are other ways I could earn the same money with less effort.
I'm looking at getting a home battery and solar in the near future, I'll reevaluate after that.

@Russ: Have to work out what is best in your circumstances🤔
Your option is of course simplest.Received thousands of dollars in incentives to switch with Econnex over years. So don't mind this dance.
Just signed up first time to Red Energy for bit lower rates than others.
Leaving OVO as first 2 payments are based on estimate of high energy use large households… totally unlike mine. Now to recover hundreds in overcharge. Far too complex!
Will switch again in 45-60d after connection
When a good Deal comes along.

After years of successfully using Econnex Deals - I still don't know the code.
If you want to know the tariff code/codes, enter your postcode and meter NMI into EnergyMadeEasy.gov.au, and the code/codes are listed at the top of the results page (circle added).
Despite EnergyMadeEasy knowing the codes, it still offers me loads of plans I can't access. Some plans explicitly list the required tariffs.

@Russ: I switched from single rate plan with AGL to Powershop plan that did show peak and off peak rates but they were the same. So, no idea if anything happened with my metering. However I then switched to what I thought was Momentum single rate but it was a demand plan - stupid me didn't look closely at the welcome letter. Now I am stuck on TOU, demand forever as AGL in my area only allow single rate to continue if you are on it and do not switch your provider. Oh well, the $450 credits to switch to Engie are very generous as were the credits from Powershop, Momentum and Econnex.

@chrisharry53: Despite me cancelling the change on Monday morning, and Alinta sending me an email saying the change was cancelled, they still went ahead. Tuesday I received two emails - one from Alinta saying I'm now their customer, and one from my previous supplier saying "Final Bill".
I got the energy ombudsman involved and it's being sorted out now. I complained to Alinta about how much time it was taking me to sort out THEIR screwup, and they said I'll receive compensation.
I've yet to hear from my old supplier, I hope I get put back onto the same plan, which is/was single-rate+CL1. If they don't, I think I'll be suing Alinta for ongoing increased charges forever. I documented everything meticulously by email as it happened, so I've got a provable timeline of everything that happened.

Just did everything, once i hit submit, the sign up page turn into" 404 page not found" then got a text message with no reference number, just generic text saying i will get a GC if eligible. No email so far. So i am not sure if it went through

Happened to me in a previous Deal.
Did receive confirmation email a few hours later
PM Econnex Rep - Manyo if email not received.
email received but came 404 error, for internet sign up

Just switched electricity.
Yes, same as last time… 404 page not found after clicking signupNotified Econnex Rep of issue 2 months ago.
But immediately received confirmation SMS
"Thanks for switching Energy with Econnex! If eligible, your gift card will be sent in 90-120 days."
And confirmation email at same time.So everything is ok.

I got the same text, but no email, also it has been more than 24 hours and no email from new or old provider either so i am not sure if it went thru or not

PM Econnex Rep - Manyo asap
Offer expires Tomorrow nightWhen there is a Deal on, have received prompt response.

@INFIDEL: I just submitted a new application to switch as have not heard anything. This time i get a reference number so hopefully everything is good

@bargainfinder: Probably best idea.
Send a PM explaining that - as you may have 2 applications to switch

Signed up today, lets see how this goes.

I signed up a few days ago but didn't get any email confirmation from Econnex, it's not in spam folder either. Is it standard to get email confirmation from them?

You wont hear from econnex at all, next email will be from your chosen supplier.

Do you know the typical turnaround to be connected to the new supplier? I’ve got the sms but haven’t heard anything since signing up on the Tuesday.

If you have been with a provider in the past (months ago), can you transfer to them again and still get this deal?
I am guessing yes… Can't see clearly in conditions

Just signed up to engie for the extra $125.
Note that if your having trouble with the phone number verification, to check the spam folder (Top right corner in android, in your profile) as mine kept getting sent there.

did u receive email from engie ?
I got 404 page after submitted. received email/sms from Econnex, but nothing from engie yet.
Mine went through ok. No sms from engie, but I received sms from the internet and gas accounts. Email wise, I've got something from all 3 today

Anyone know if you are treated as a new customer with Engie if you previously went with them in the past?

The $150 is avaialbe if you haven't claimed it in the past 12 months. If you were with them on the Black Friday deal last year, you won't get it. Best to go with another one and hope for a good deal on boxing day!

Nah last I check was May 2024 and that was the last bill. There was a $300 gas bonus but I can’t remember who that was with.

You should be good then. Happy bonus :)

Can it be done for a new service? I.e moving into a new house not a switch?

Has anyone received ENGIE bonus credit for sign up within 12 months of signing up again

I would also like to know this now that Powershop has disappeared from my area. Engie is the only one giving a decent sign up bonus with Econnex. I'm currently with Engie, but I want to try switching back in a couple of months once I've completed the Origin/Everyday Rewards 40,000 points offer next month.

I got denied a $175 bonus from Momentum after I used them twice in a 12 month period, so I don't want a 2nd rejection.

better to go with topcashback for superloop and get $95 tracked in minutes. instead waiting for mastercard by ecconex, no gurantee.
