I wouldn’t go near Telstra, even if they offered 12 months free nbn. You’d spend 12 months with their call centre trying to get it to work. They prioritise watching Netflix (WFH) than actually providing a service.

Friends dont let friends use Telstra for overpriced NBN.

the 30% off only brings it down to 'regular' pricing of some providers and its still more expensive than others

Did Telstra recently become available on the OptiComm network?

I am with Telstra and so close to moving, service overpriced and customer service very poor. Has anyone received their NBN speed upgrade from 100 to 500 Mbps? After contacting them twice about it, they keep saying ‘wait’, without providing anything more specific (i.e. an end date).

In the northern suburbs of Melbourne for reference

    • Not with Telstra but you should have received that upgrade weeks ago, definitely time to move.

    • real deals are in the comments OP wanna update post? works for me to, not that i'd use telstra apart from rural reception

    • Thanks, i was hesitant mentioning this in the chat when signing up cause there's no mention of it online, but the chat agent offered it to me so it's legit. 500/50 for $56/month for 3 months, can't complain!

The only annoying thing is Telstra doesn’t let you use your own modem, you have to get theirs with the plan. And when you cancel, you either send it back or they’ll charge you a $200 non return fee.

    • are you absolutely sure about that?… im not going to bother test it myself but i am pretty sure there would be a way to opt out even if its not obvious like a tiny checkbox under tiny font wording…

      • It’s pretty hard to opt out. I signed up to Telstra a couple years back when they had a Black Friday offer of $1 for first month and $100 gift card. I spent a good 20 minutes on chat during signup convincing them I’ll only sign up if they withhold their router… in the end I got it in writing they’ll send the router and I can keep it if I cancel / won’t be charged if I don’t send it back.

Not true. I have been using my own modem /router.
