Similar deal at Woolworths as well eg $2.45 for Protein Crisp.

    • These my favourite bars. Woolies and Coles have them on sale every month or two, so just need to wait til days like today and go and clear the shelves and hope they last til the next sale.

  • My personal limit on the high protein version is $3, over that just not worth it for me. I guess theyll never be that price again on sale

My personal favourite from Musashi is the Protein Deluxe range.

Best ever was Jam Donut. Then, Choc Caramel Brownie and Cinnamon Scroll isn't too bad. The peanut one tastes over the top artificial.

These aren't the best macros or even ingredients but honestly are the best tasting protein bars I've had in the 12-15+ years of trying everything on a regular basis.

20g protein and often around 5g of sugar and 5g Saturated Fats.

I mostly use Smart Protein / Fibre Boost bars these days as I need a healthier bar so I don't die. 20g protein, 20g fibre and stuff all rubbish filler type ingredients. Generally low sugar and fat.

Tldr I don't like the High Protein bars and haven't touched them for years, maybe 10.

  • I got a box of protein bars with Reeses peanut butter "used inside" from the US during the recent amazon sale.

for some reason I half expected it to use the same peanut butter filling as Reese's cups, but it turned out to be the same usual protein bar texture.

tastes great, but uh the texture is like. what am I eating. is this even food. could be flavoured microplastics combined with filler.

Personally I enjoy this way more https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/151712/musashi-high-…

It’s more protein, tastes way better an obviously doesn’t have the texture of dryer lint

    • Agree, the shakes are a lot easier to get down

  • I wonder if this is due to that UK doco on protein bars that came out recently?

    • what did it say?

      • Essentially, they are ultra processed and unhealthy despite legally marketable health claims. The doco was called "Joe Wicks: Licenced to Kill".

        • thanks that's basically what I thought trying the ones I mentioned in my comment above. 😂

          food

but have to admit part of it is a me problem. when I was shopping coles the other day online, I was scrolling past all the fresh fruit/veg/good meats (too expensive) and slowing down for the frozen foods/sausages/chips/redbull etc. 🙇‍♀️

        • , they are ultra processed

          Need more info.
Saying something is 'processed' is like saying is has 'chemicals' in it. or it has 'preservatives' are used. These words are meaningless on there own.
eg A steak is 'processed' when the butcher cuts a cow into smaller sized pieces. Steak is made of 'chemicals' since everything in the universe is made of chemicals, and refrigeration and salt are both types of 'preservatives'. Would you eat a steak?

            @1st-Amendment:

            Would you eat a steak?

Mostly not, the way you described it. I don't want to hear how and from what it is made. A bit too raw. :)

  • I love these. Went went bought 10
