Pretty good price for return flights from Melbourne to Vancouver next year in August.
Just bought some myself, found on Cheapflights for $1068 but seems to have gone up to $1075 now.
Can also get this price on Skyscanner. Google flights was more expensive.
Booked through Aunt Betty (they are under the Flight Centre umbrella), which our family has booked through twice before and had positive experiences both times. I know there will be the obligatory comments about booking direct with the airline, so if you choose to book through a 3rd party do so at your own risk.

Both flights on FJ so they should check your luggage through, no need to collect. Not sure why it says self transfer.
Can't recall if you clear customs when transiting NAN (prob not), but it is pretty quick regardless.
Yeah I'm not sure why it says self transfer. If you look up the flight on other sites like Expedia, it doesn't say self transfer. Have also flown this exact route last year and it wasn't self transfer.
Just flew that route. Tiny airport and the connecting flight is from the same terminal
good price :D I still have PTSD from the AC strike in August.
Yeah, we were tossing up between this or a Virgin Australia flight but saw it was operated by Air Canada and have seen too many negative experiences with them lately
VA is just code sharing. If you start from MEL, you need a transit at SYD or BNE, usually 6am MEL-BNE/SYD will give you around 1hr 50min transit at either. It is very tight as you need to change terminals (taking bus etc)
There is a direct Qantas flight to Sydney - Vancouver, though.
I think it would be better to show the price per adult in the title.
Will they serve me Kava on the flight?
That link seems to be set as 1 adult 2 children. Changing it to 1 adult pushes the price up to $1,308.
Ah yeah my bad, forgot to change to one adult after booking. Still decent price
I actually went to a travel agent for this flight and they suggested delaying the transfer, which they did with a few clicks … bonus 5 day tropical holiday on the way back from Van. Best 50 bucks i spent.
Yeah there are other flight options that come up with longer stopovers, I do love a cheeky stopover that adds an extra country to the itinerary
Word of caution with baggage on this flight, as we transferred they asked us nonchalantly how many bags we had on us (we assumed it meant carry on as the bags were supposed to be transferred through), we said two. One carry-on each.
Needless to say my two bags didn't make it to Vancouver, ski bag + clothing, so I had only what I packed in my carry-on to get me through -20 degrees in Whistler which meant buying/renting ski gear until my bag turned up 7 days later.
The flight was great, but if anything goes wrong they were absolutely terrible. All numbers to contact were disconnected, no way to reach anyone about anything. Only way I got my bag back, even after 7 days, was thanks to my airtag showing it sitting in Nadi airport and us finding the phone number for the cleaners at Nadi airport who we called and were able to pass us onto the check-in desk to get the bag put on the next flight.
All-in-all they're not ony my list to fly with again
2hr 10m self transfer in Nadi. Only doable if you don't have checked luggage.
