  • Have you had a plus account before?

  • Why would anybody pay for ChatGPT? I have multi access on my multi devices. And grok, Gemini as back up. Deepseek etc as final resort.

      Are you not deported lolz

    • @LargestDeportation and which one is the best? Unlimited free access.

So much hallucination lately… and that’s with gpt-5

I’m finding grok much better these days

      I'm sorry, you're absolutely right!

      • I didnt know grok …. is this the best free AI? Better than copilot?

    • +1

I wonder what the endgame with chatgpt's hallucinations will be? Do they revert back to a previous version and try again, or will they have to shut it down because it just spits out nonsense?

I find Grok treats you like a 6 year old by wanting to think things through/explore together etc. it takes forever to get it to actually generate anything. Where as ChatGPT gets straight to it with a simple request. Is this normal, or is it the operator?

    • Could you provide an example that in what way Grok is better? Thanks.

    • Switch the model from ChatGPT 5 (Auto) to Thinking.

Much less hallucinations, but obviously not instant responses.

    • What's hallucination? i've only used chatgpt free in the past and signed up to perplexity pro through here, prefer the chatbot type chatgpt offers, perplexity seems useless for my use case just spitting out URLs (i'm probably using it incorrectly)

If you just want to chat you can turn off web search in the sources.
The first icon on the right at the bottom of the chat box is the sources icon.
Next to it you can pick to always use gpt if thats what your prefer.

It really gets down to how much you use it.
I used ChatGPT Business trial to help redesign my website (coding, images, layout, modernizing etc).
ChatGTP Free has pretty low limits and it doesn't take long to hit them when are start using for something like that or tech troubleshooting.
Ended up getting a Business account which works out to around $510 a year AUD by the time you add GST. Expensive, but valuable depending if you get the usage from it.
I have a Gemini trial as well as Copilot paid subscription with work, but find ChatGPT is the best for what I use it for - IT investigations, improving communications, etc.
Note that if you want to save any chats in your trial, you can't simply share them publicly as that is all blocked. You need to copy / paste or export and save as PDF. A real pain in the ass, so just be aware of that if you need to share or save for later.

    • Can I ask how you got it to redesign your website? Did it actually rebuild it with a set of parameters you imputed? Or do you just kink your URL and ask a series of re-designs? Thanks for any response.

  • Perplexity still has free 12 month trial

ChatGPT is better for storytelling and coding. Perplexity is better for internet search and fact finding.

    • Perplexity is just a front-end, you can select different models in the settings including cgpt5

One feature I like about ChatGPT is the ability to create Projects and have all the conversation threads neatly categorised. Whereas CoPilot doesn't do this and if you have multiple conversation threads, it can be a challenge trying to find one from more than a week ago. I tried Gemini, can't seem to locate this function. I'll assume others will follow and implement this function, it's very handy.

Perplexity has spaces which works the same.
