Anyone with Bad Voda Coverage, Tried Again since The Optus Tower Share?

Recent and first hand experiences only please :)

Just wondering if anyone has given Voda a 2nd chance with the "double the coverage!" Compaign they have running (full tower share with optus)?

Is it truly optus coverage + a bit?

Reason for asking is that my whole family is with an optus provider now, and we all get great coverage in our area.

However, I'm tempted by the 21GB and unlimited international for $15.75/pm (equivalent) that the Lebara 365 plan offers.

Lebara is to Voda what Belong is to Telstra, fully owned, so I'm not offput buy the brand, its just that my parents are getting older and dont need more asterisks in this overly modern world.

I need same reception, the cheap plan and the big data is a bonus so they can (accidentally) misuse their data and not worry.

Thanks for any help.

I’m with them in brisbane. Can’t speak more highly of Vodafone.

  • Was with Telstra for 5 years in Melbourne, now Voda for 2 years, can't say I've noticed much of a difference daily

The agreement between optus and Vodafone only covers regional areas. Vodafone still maintain their own towers in metro areas. Best to buy a cheaper startet pack to try you can get cocerage where you need.

  • Got a great yearly plan with Lebara and as I have a local Optus only tower get better coverage than on Telstra network.
North of Brisbane, more Optus towers than Telstra ; )

  • I tried their 12 month 320Gb pre-paid plan which ended up being around $135 after cash back. I live in Perth and have travelled up as far as Exmouth and had no issues with reception or data at all when comparing to Optus. There was one small roadhouse that had Optus reception but Voda had no coverage (likely Optus micro tower I think they are called). Metro coverage for me is fine. I've always had solid 4G and 5G coverage wherever I go.

  • You won't really notice any difference in metro areas since the new tower sharing agreement, the only towers that are shared now are those outside of big cities. So regional coverage has taken a massive increase but it's business as usual when you're in the big smoke.

In saying that, Voda in Perth is brilliant. Optus is the best, Voda next and then Telstra last.
Telstra is so overcongested, it's barely possible to get data flow in the Perth underground train station and in the tunnel heading north it's rubbish. Voda and Optus both shine there.

Swings and roundabouts though, there are some places where Voda sucks but they aren't places I visit regularly, so I just put up with it. For the most part, I have zero complaints about Voda's network.
