I'm thinking of getting these (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/285807023096) since the box damaged ones got sold out. I know that seconds are technically refurbished but I've heard that they send sealed new items, does anyone have any experience with that? Otherwise I might as well just wait for the box damaged ones.

Personally I wouldn’t but that for hygiene reasons. I know they’re sterilized and what not but still, gross.

I had a refurbished pair sold to me over a year ago. They were perfect. Never used. No signs of wear anywhere.

It's piss easy to shrink wrap boxes. That said, I've bought a few seconds and box damaged stuff from Sony and it has all been fine. This includes headphones and a camera body (less than 20 shutter count on a A7RV). For a TV, I'd record the unboxing as I've heard horror stories…
I think I read that Sony sells new stuff as box damaged to clear old stock and not upset retailers and distributors.
I have a personal policy of not buying used earphones and headphones. The only people I'm comfortable sharing mine with are family, close friends, and airport crushes.
