$45 Cashback on amaysim $199 12-Month 320GB SIM/eSIM Prepaid Plan @ TopCashback AU

730

Looks like they increased cashback from $39 to $45:

Mobile Terms: SIM must be activated within 20 days of purchase. Failure to do so will result in cashback being declined. Cashback is ineligible on recharges to existing services, phones, phone deals, amaysim refer-a-friend (RAF) sales, SIMs bought from retail stores or outlets. Cashback is eligible for new & existing amaysim customers on purchase of a new service (SIM).

OP edit: $320 removed from title to avoid confusion.

  • Comparing this one which is $12.83 per month to the Boost deal $17 per month.

What would a true ozbargainer do?

  • Anyone know when does this cashback end? Thx

    • -6

It ends when the deal is marked “expired”.

      • Thx, but no thx

  • Can anyone help me out? I recently ported for a friend to this specific amaysim deal and they've found this issue - where people who have made an incoming call to my friend have been saying that the phone doesn’t ring or even show a missed call on my friends phone. Data works perfect on the Optus 5G network, just struggling with the incoming calls. Its not every incoming call. Quite confused, may have to get them the Optus 365 day prepaid plan as they were just with boost but the reception in our area was really bad.

    • How long has this been happening? Some info that may help: https://theconversation.com/why-does-my-phone-sometimes-not-…. NZ based, but same principles apply here.

      • Since they ported over on Monday. Will check this out.

    • This is a porting issue. Please contact your telco to fix it

      • You may be right, let me get onto Amaysim.

    • Do they have an iPhone and have they recently updated to ios26? On ios26 there’s an option in the phone settings now that I believe is maybe default turned on where it screens phone calls from numbers not saved in contacts and won’t show you a ringing notification automatically

      It looks like this

      • Thanks for this, but they are on iOS 18, good thinking though! Very strange since boost and voda was fine for them, all of a sudden Amaysim is troublesome for them.

        • Did you try disabling wifi calling ?

          • @Wiser: Let me try this, I would assume that having it on would be better? But can give it a shot as well as calling Amaysim.

  • I am using optus, do I need to buy other network sim for port in/out??

    • You only need to port out if it’s the same telco that you wish to start a new agreement with.

      • Ok so it's all pretty much instant now when going through same provider but different MVNO? Haven't done it for probably 2 years and it was always best practice to use another port to save delays eg Optus-Voda-Amaysim instead of Optus-Amaysim

Easiest and cheapest way to port out and back in, looking for suggestions?

    • +1

$2 prepaid sim from anywhere (Supermarket, Post Office, Officeworks, phone shop, electronics retailer) for someone other than Amaysim?

      • +1

Following this line of thought, typically people port out to a $2 PAYG plan with $0 credit on it? Then port back as soon as it's live?
So the total cost is $2. Cause a lot of telcos don't do a $2 PAYG SIM right (like woolies SIM, aldi SIM etc), would likely have to be a direct Optus or Voda SIM?

Also been a while for me, but got a few plans to refresh in the coming weeks.

        • +1

Yeah exactly. You port out to the prepaid SIM, don't recharge/add credit, wait until it's active, then port to the new provider.

A quick Google shows me $2 prepaid SIMs for Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, Boost, Aldi, Woolworths, Kogan from all sorts of different stores.

That's the cheapest method. Easiest would be an eSIM. Not sure what the cheapest eSIM monthly plan is.

            @moar bargains: Cheers!

Yeah, I guess I'm quite confident that Optus/Voda/Telstra offer a PAYG option, thus you can activate without spending anything beyond the $2 (I believe). Whereas Woolies/Aldi etc, while they offer a $2 SIM, I (don't know, but strongly suspect) you have to choose an actual plan as part of the activation, hence can't be done for $2 total. But, that is all speculation on my part having not gone through their activation processes - leaning on experiences from years past.

            • @nzcoops: Ah yes, you could be absolutely right. Not sure as I haven't done it in years myself either

    • Not cheapest but easiest is eSIM with a telco with good systems, I went with felix and it was smooth. Will port out in a month.

      • You ported to a one-month prepaid plan yeah?

        • Yep

  • Any experiences from anyone, would there be any good deals before end of the year?

Just want to plan in a way that annual renewal happens in similar dates every year and we can purchase yearly plan during offer periods.

How long does it take to receive? Do they post quickly?

    • -3

      Cashbacks don’t get posted 😂

i ordered Tuesday. received Thursday in a StarTrack envelope

Unsure whether to get this or wait til Black Friday sales….

    • I’m in the same boat — I grabbed the Optus 280GB plan last year for $220 with a $100 cashback from Cash Rewards!

      • Awesome, was it during Black Friday sales?

        • Yup, but no more Cashrewards!

      • Same but I’m out of data now. I think the extra data on this + ability to use 5G makes the extra $30 worth it.

  • +1

Kind of annoying that the activation window is only 20 days - it should be at least 60 :(

    • Ah damn where does it say that

  • Im on boost now and not interested in doing an out/in so think I’ll go for this. One of the few MVNOs doing 5g, big data and same price after cashback as the Boost was for less data (170gb) last year.

The onepass mobile last month with onepass included was tempting, but onepass can be had for $20yr on sale and no 5g/esim with them

Open to the floor, any better options anyone else is waiting on? MVNO with same inclusions as Amaysim that I’ve missed?

  • If we are already on amaysim, how does it work? Cancel monthly auto-renewal and activate on the date of monthly plan expiry or before 20 days end of the plan to get this offer?

    • +1

Cancel auto-renewal, port the number to a different mobile provider, then wait a day (to be safe), and then port back to Amaysim using the new SIM. Do that within 20 days.

Expect to wait months for the cashback.

  • Date of Black Friday sales ?

  • Do I go with this or wait for a potentially? Better deal for black friday, decisions decisions

  • 12.8 is quite expensive.

I earn cashback for my last few months mobile plan, only if you bother keep switching every month

  • When does this tcb deal end?

  • +2

If I'm already with amaysim, can I sign-up to this and use the same number without voiding cashback?

  • Keep getting ‘oh no that cart is broken via the TopCashback app.’

  • I am with Optus and would like to take this offer, do I also need to port out or can I just take up the offer and switch?

  • Has this tracked for anyone? Been over 16 hours for me

    • Not for me

    • Mine tracked pretty quickly. Used the app

    • Still none for me either
