Hi, I am looking to buy a roborock vacuum from The Good Guys, valued just under $1000. Is it worthit to get $189 worth of Gold Services Extra ?

how long ago was that? and what was the worth of it like $100+?

about 3 weeks ago, looking at the good guys site now it is worth $95 (dunno where I put the receipt).
Surprised it's so different in price, what I bought was a $700 vacuum cleaner.

That likely means there was at least $95 profit margin in the vac that you could have haggled down.

@Typical16-bitEnjoyer: Most likely, although I'd already talked them down $100 and my ego wants to go with me being such a nice person that they gave it to me.

@freefall101: So, you were writing cheques that your ego could cash, eh?
Congrats on the bonus, especially as it was just offered and they didn't make you work for it. If they thought you were a muppet, they wouldn't have bothered trying to do something nice for you.

@Muppet Detector: They refused to reduce price or give complimentary gold services extra as I was using 15% off code (that was recieved today via email). Said that they can't do these things with 15% off code applied. Not sure how true it is though.

oh wow, but if they don't offer for free, should i buy it?

That deal sucks.

I think it's it's worth it. Electronics and water don't mix. Prime recipe for issues in the future. It's a good piece of mind for later on down the track. Even though warranty is 2 years, paying that for five years of coverage is easy to deal with then having to write emails, chase people, use the ACCC threateningly.
I wouldn't use it for other electronics though. Only robot vacuums.
I did buy it for my last purchase and you receive $20 every 90 days. So you can use in on accessories for the vacuum. Mopping pads, cleaning solution, bags etc.

how much was it for 5 years?

Same as yours. I got it for my Roborock Revo C. It was $850.

I'd go into the store, talk nicely to the staff and see if they can throw it in for free. Last time I made a big purchase at TGG they threw it in without me even asking for it (I didn't even notice until I got a text message about it).
