What's OZB's battery of choice before rebates get smaller? Gold coast, want backup capability (charge from generate run and charge offgrid) have 20kw of panels already thinking 40kwh? looking at Fox ess and midea but so many options

      Tesla Powerwall battery

      • +4

There are far better price/performance options than a Powerwall these days.

          Any recommendations please

Sigenergy has been really good! I got a 48kw one and have 0 issues/complaints.

      • What did you pay for that? Was looking at the same and was about $10k after rebate for 16kwh

        • After the rebate, I paid 17k for the 48 kWh Sig with a 12 kW inverter (single phase). Although it's only been 3 months the Sig has been good so far.

          • @dirigibile: That's pretty good price is that in SEQ by any chance? If so who installed as I'll reach out for a price.

            • @Jazza2400: Interested

            • @Jazza2400: What is SEQ?

              RK Solar installed it

              • @dirigibile: I also paid 17,000 for 48kw with whole house backup. The back up/gateway mode is really cool especially as you see everyone in your street lose electricity but you still have one using battery power when you have grid outage :P

Also, join the Sigenergy facebook group and do some research there. I believe they are the most advanced one with options to install bidirectional charger (charging your home with your EV car).

If you live in NSW I can let you know my installer through DM and can share more info to you. Really one of the best purchases I made in a while

@dirigibile: I'm thinking South East QLD?

            • @Jazza2400: Sorry above reply was meant for you! 17k is net installation quote with all rebates considered. Its a bit steep but I took a loan from my bank at a very low interest rate of 3.5% through sustainable home upgrade loan.

To offset more cost, I also joined amber electricity. You can read about that in one of the deals posted in ozbargain and Im usually in credit with my bill so I dont pay too much on the 3.5% interest loan a month even with my ducted AC on all night :D

    • Hi, we also service QLD, please fill out the form and one of our team members will be in touch.

  • Damn I'm sitting on a quote for $9,9k for 10kw solar and 40 kWh battery.

    • can i ask what brand are you getting for this? i got a quote for a 10kwh jinko solar+10kwh sungrow invertor/batterry(20kWh) for more than 20K

      • Astroenergy 440w F BH 440 24x solar panels
        Foxess 8kw hybrid inverter
Foxess 41.93 kWh battery with packs you can add or remove if any become faulty and need replacing you can keep using the rest of the packs

    • Thats not bad give solar is included too. Who are you going with?

      • This is with solar miner

    • +1

Please if you are installing a battery do some research and dont just install cheapie ones. From my research reliable ones are:
      Tesla
      Sungrow
      Sigenergy
      Enphase

SolarQuotes or SolarChoice are good sources of info on anything solar related. Do some supplementary research by joining user groups on facebook to see actual user feedback on product. :)

      • I've tried and felt like I was getting no where. Originally I did that and got the 3 quotes and the prices I got was so bad.
Talking 6-8k out of pocket for just 10kw solar. The quotes I got myself were better but this deal probably takes the cake on all the quotes I have.

    • Hello, we also provide comprehensive solar and battery packages. Please complete the form to receive a competitive quote. Cheers

  • Any deals from anyone in WA? We have a ducted AC that uses 7kwh. Would be great to get enough battery for 6 hours of that running.
Currently have just 5kw of panels due to shortage of roof space.

Hi, great question. Yes we do support and Install in WA.
Please fill out the form on our website and one of WA based solar / battery expert will be in touch with details.

  • I am building a new house in Vic, can i still get it for 4k?

    • +1

Same question. My house in under construction at the moment

      • Yes its for new or existing homes, when you're ready please contact us.

    • Keep in mind to be eligible for the battery rebate, you need to have solar. So you'd need to add the price of a solar array to this $4K price.

      • What if you need to upgrade the existing solar system?

        • If the battery system supports AC coupling, which it most likely would, then you don't need to upgrade your existing solar

        • This battery support AC & DC coupling, means it can be installed with (DC couple) new solar panels or AC - Couple - exisiting solar / Inverter. If interested, please submit form on our website for further information.

          • @Amazon Energy Group: I would recommend that this is added to your original post as it is crucial info (i.e. that is supports AC and DC coupling). Also how many MPPTs the inverter has.

      • Battery rebates applies to both new solar + batteries install or just adding batteries ( AC coupling) to existing an solar system.

        • yes, but since the person I was replying to is building a new house, I would presume they don't already have solar so would need to factor in the additional cost of solar.

    • Yes you can, please submiet your form and one of our team members will be in touch.

  • Isn’t a 6kw inverter not enough for this battery?

    • +1

It depends more on what your house pulls. If you have an electric stove, AC and a kettle going you would easily pull over 6 kw.

It would be good to know if you can pay a bit more and get a higher kw inverter.

  • You do realize the real Amazon has a trademark of Amazon energy right

    • I see one trademark for a beverage (unrelated to the slavery company) that was cancelled in 2019?

Hi guys, i just contacted via your Web site and keen on this deal, please contact me asap. Thanks

Thank you, one of our team member will be in touch.

  • What's the catch here? Really good price for the 30kW system.
How are the reviews on the battery quality?
And will the price be the same in NSW?

  • Hi, there’s no catch — it’s a limited-time deal! Please send through your NSW address so we can prepare a tailored quote for you.
