Leaf shovel? What a random product name, guarantee no one has ever called this a leaf shovel

    • Leaf shovel is better for collecting debris from the bottom of the pool. Leaf scoop is more for collecting debris floating on the surface.

But a leaf shovel can do both!
But really only handy when something goes wrong with your pool cleaner.

Agree I call them Foliage Spades

Because the way you use this thing is push and pull. Currently using this to cleanup 5+ yrs debris from the bottom of my pool.

      • You should put your phone down until you've finished the job.

        • Every few passes the water is very cloudy, need to wait a while for the debris to settle down again.

    • Nothing but net!

can I use it for fishing?

    • same question, is it solid enough for a 4kg fish?

      • +4

Wouldn't recommend it. I've gone through a few of these over the years (for its intended purpose). Either the plastic head breaks, or the net becomes torn (especially where it is clipped into the plastic head).

Any deals on pools to go with it?

  • Thanks OP. Never heard of leaf shovel. But it made sense, so i ordered one with Onepass delivery.

    • Not sure why not knowing a leaf shovel triggered the neg. But ok.

I found the leaf rake version to be a better design for getting the more stubborn debris off the floor. Used to have a huge problem with the frangipani trees in mine and my neighbours yard.

These don't last more than a year out next to the pool at partial sun light during day

    • Yes agreed and they don't get fine foliage out as the holes are too big. I purchased one a while ago and it does an okay job but I'm planning to get something better now it's warming up.

Have you tried…NOT leaving it next to the pool at partial sun light during day?

      • -1

Its a tool for cleaning a pool. You usually use it in summer when the sun is out a lot and you are out cleaning pool a lot. Its like saying "Oh your boat leaks water,,have you tried not putting it in water". There should be some UV resistance built into it. 1 year in partial sun should not make it fall apart. I am not going to store it in my gun safe with a dehumidifier next to it. Its stored in a box in shade by palms. Gets some sunlight in afternoon. About 3-4 hours.

This is just the head right? Handle ~$20 extra if you don't already have.

    Cheers OP :)

The Stainless Steel Algae brush is also on sale for $9.98 (was $19):

      Reviews are shit FYI

  • Bunnings or Aldi version…which is better?

  • The pool is only slightly discounted. Shame. But got some of their other ~1/2 prices.

  • Does this work well to pick fruits from trees? If not any suggestions on alternate options?

    • No. Any small twig will rip the netting.
